🔵 Interested in becoming a Democratic Precinct Chair?

Happy New Year! If you’re a Beech Grove Democrat who wants to be more involved at the neighborhood level, now is the time to step up. Democratic Precinct Chairs are elected in the May primary and play an important role in organizing, voter outreach, and supporting local candidates.

🗳 What to know:

Position is on the May primary ballot

Requires filing a CAN-37 form

Deadline to file: Friday, February 6 at noon

Forms must be physically filed with the county election board

This is one of the easiest and most impactful ways to get involved locally. If you’re interested or have questions about the process, feel free to reach out.

The general election last Tuesday did not bring the outcome Democrats everywhere were hoping for at the national level. But in our area some great Democrats were elected or reelected to office. They are:

United States Representative André Carson - 7th Congressional District
State Representative Mitch Gore - House District 89
Barbara Lawrence - Marion County Treasurer
Alfie McGinty - Marion County Coroner
Debra Jenkins - Marion County Surveyor

We thank all candidates who stepped up and campaigned during this election cycle.

As we head into the off-year and look to the next election cycle in 2026, we Democrats will evaluate how we can successfully reach out to voters, get them to pulls, and vote for our candidates.

On Thursday, December 12th, 2024 at 6:30 pm at Prodigy Burger Bar, in addition to our December meeting, we will have our first annual Blue Donkey Party.

The rules of the blue donkey are quite simple:

1. Each participant brings a wrapped gift that is either from home, made by hand or up to $20. We set all the gifts on a table.

2. We will draw to figure out the order of participation. The first participant will open a gift. The second participant will either choose to steal the first person's unwrapped gift or unwrap a new gift. The third person can choose an unwrapped gift or one already opened.. and so on.

Please RSVP your attendance for this meeting by replying to this thread. Ideally, we should have 15-20 participants.

The General Election is only 6 days away. Have you made a plan to vote? There is still time to early vote at various locations throughout Marion County. On election day many vote center locations will be open for any Marion County registered voter to go to and cast their vote. Go to vote.indy.gov to find your nearest early voting or election day vote center and other information from the county election board.

This coming Tuesday Beech Grove voters will vote for candidate for:
President & Vice President of the United States
United States Senator
Governor & Lt. Governor
Attorney General
United States Representative
State Senator
State Representative
Various county offices and township board
School Board
Retention of Supreme Court Justices
Retention of Court of Appeals judge
Retention of Marion Superior Court judges
An amendment to the state constitution

Remember if you are a registered voter in Marion County and want to vote, please make a plan and go to vote.indy.gov to get more information about the election.

Democrats will be a booth at the Beech Grove Fall Festival that is being held starting today at 6 pm through Saturday. Our booth will on the north side of Main Street between 5th Ave and 6th Ave. Please come visit us, check your voter registration, and learn about our candidates on the ballot this fall.

Democrats in Marion County are hosting a fundraiser for Cinde Wirth, our candidate for Congress in the 6th Congressional District and I invite all supporters to attend this event and send Cinde to Congress. An Evening with Cinde Wirth for Congress will take place on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 5 pm to 8 pm at 1708 Maynard Drive, Indianapolis, IN.

The suggested contributions is $100 but all amounts are welcomed.
