August was another busy month for the members of 29 Fire. Throughout the month, our members responded to 58 calls for service, while continuing to train and prepare for the wide variety of emergencies we respond to throughout the year.

In addition to our regular call volume and training, 29 Fire members spent four days providing standby coverage for the LIV Golf event in Bedminster. This detail required significant planning and staffing, and we were proud to provide fire and emergency coverage throughout the event.

We also want to recognize and thank our neighboring departments for their support during the four-day detail. Martinsville Fire Department , Bernardsville Fire Co. No. 1 & First Aid Squad , peapackgladstonefd , and Pottersville Vol Fire Company provided brush trucks and personnel to help support our coverage and ensure resources were available throughout the event.

The continued support and cooperation between our neighboring departments is an important part of keeping our communities safe. We appreciate all of the members who gave their time throughout August — whether responding to calls, attending training, or supporting special events.

25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Service

On Friday, September 11th at 5:00 PM, the members of our local emergency services and community will come together at the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Company to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember the innocent lives lost, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the families and communities forever changed by that day.

This memorial service provides an opportunity for our community to pause, reflect, and ensure that the memories and sacrifices of September 11th are never forgotten.

Bedminster Township Mayor Lawrence F. Jacobs will offer remarks during the service, reflecting on the significance of September 11th and the importance of remembering the courage, sacrifice, and unity that followed that tragic day.

We invite all members of our community to join us as we gather together to remember, honor, and never forget.

🚒 Welcome to 29 Fire!

The membership is excited to welcome two new members to 29 Fire — Harry Yessman and Peter Cuttone!

Both Harry and Peter join 29 Fire with previous firefighting experience and bring a wealth of knowledge and training to our department. They are both certified firefighters in the State of New Jersey and hold certifications in several technical rescue disciplines.

Last week, 29 Fire members responded to several motor vehicle incidents throughout town, including a box truck off the roadway on I-287, an overturned vehicle at Hills Drive and Route 206, and another vehicle off the roadway on Route 206 near the I-287 on-ramp.

Members also responded to a reported small rubbish fire on I-287, which was ultimately found to be a small battery pack from an electric bike.

July was another busy month for 29 Fire, with our members responding to 60 calls for service throughout the month.

Beyond emergency calls, our members continued to stay active in training, community events, and department activities. July included supporting the town farmers market, providing standby coverage for the Fiddler’s Elbow 4th of July fireworks, assisting with a mobile Veterans War Memorial, welcoming new members to the department, and celebrating as two of our members successfully completed Firefighter 1 at Morris Fire Academy.

And that’s just a portion of what our members were up to throughout the month. We’re proud of the time, dedication, and commitment our members continue to give to 29 Fire and our community.

This past weekend, 29 Fire was requested for the landing zone for NorthSTAR SouthSTAR Medevac following an incident at a local farm where a rider was thrown from a horse.

Our members worked alongside Far Hills-Bedminster First Aid Squad and Bedminster Police to secure a safe landing area, allowing the flight crew to quickly access the patient and provide advanced medical care.

We wish the injured rider a full and speedy recovery and thank all of the responding agencies for their teamwork and professionalism.

It was another busy week for the members of 29 Fire, responding to a variety of emergencies throughout our community. During the week, our volunteers rescued a fawn that had become trapped in a gate, quickly extinguished a lawn mower fire before it could spread, and responded to both an overturned tractor-trailer and an overturned motor vehicle.

In addition to emergency responses, our members continued sharpening their skills by participating in hands-on training focused on single-firefighter forcible entry using Revolutionary Tactics. Whether responding to calls or training for the next one, our volunteers remain committed to protecting our community and being prepared for whatever comes next.
