Join us for an in depth session designed to help producers understand the numbers that drive both soil function and farm profitability. This event features Lance Gunderson, PhD (ReGen Ag Labs) known for his expertise in soil health testing, including the Haney Test, and how these metrics translate into real world management decisions. We’ll also hear from John Haskell (Ranch Right) focusing on the margins, economics, and financial strength of your operation—what to measure, how to interpret it, and how to make decisions that improve long term resilience.

This free event is hosted by Green Sprig Ag, Virginia No-Till Alliance (VANTAGE), Virginia Tech, and American Farmland Trust with support from Sustainable Chesapeake and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

📣 Help shape the future of Central Virginia's economy

The Central Virginia Planning District Commission is updating the region's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS), a five-year plan designed to strengthen and diversify the economy across Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell counties, and the City of Lynchburg.

The updated strategy will help guide economic development priorities, strengthen regional collaboration, and improve the region's competitiveness for federal funding opportunities.

To help shape the plan, residents, business owners, farmers, and community stakeholders are encouraged to complete a public survey.

The Bedford County Beef Producers is hosting a on-farm meeting July 30th at the Edwards Farm on Patterson Mill Road.. The meeting is open to all with an interest in beef cattle. There will be a number of interesting topics covered. The meeting will begin with dinner at 6PM followed by the program.
