Comprehensive Plan – small group discussion sessions in January

Small group discussions for interested members of the public will be hosted by members of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee during January.
Following the January 8 public forum, these are further opportunities to engage with your neighbors about Bedford's future. Insight from these sessions will help the Committee and consultants to draft the vision, goals and strategies in the new Bedford Comprehensive Plan for the next 10 years or more.
Sessions are offered on Thursday evenings in Town Hall (Jan 15 and 22, 2026) or on Saturday mornings in the Library (Jan 17 and 24). They are all equivalent and will be guided by the ‘Meeting-in-a Box’ materials that have been available for residents to use independently.
To learn more and sign up, please visit the Comprehensive Plan project website: https://tinyurl.com/BCPWebsite
The opinion survey, crowdmap and meeting-in-a-box materials will remain open on the website until the end of the month.

Public Forum on Comprehensive Plan: Thurs Jan 8, 7pm at BHS

All residents are encouraged to attend the Comprehensive Plan public forum, to help shape the Town’s goals for the next 10 years or more. The meeting will be held on Thursday January 8, 2026 in Bedford High School’s Large Group Instruction Room (Room H207), starting at 7:00pm.

There will be an introductory presentation by Austin Smith from our consultants JM Goldson. Then attendees will be invited to review a set of panels displayed around the room. Some of those will provide background information and some will ask for input on various topics or questions. Staff and Advisory Committee members will be on hand to answer questions or engage in discussion, with the aim of drawing out people’s ideas. There will also be ‘stickies’ for people to add their notes to the display boards. Come prepared to share your concerns, priorities or creative suggestions!

Don’t worry if you need to arrive late or leave early – drop-ins are OK!

For those who have not yet engaged with our online outreach materials, the survey, interactive map and ‘Meeting in a Box’ are still available on the Project Hub. The deadline will be extended to January 29.

Any questions about the Forum or outreach materials can be addressed to Planning Department staff.
