🚒 Our Engine Operators recently took to the streets to put their skills to the test. To maintain peak performance, each operator is required to complete the Master Pump Operator course—a program designed to keep their drafting and pumping capabilities sharp.
As the backbone of any fire ground operation, pump operators are directly responsible for establishing and maintaining a continuous water supply. In Bedford, our team must adapt to various water sources. Depending on the location, operators may connect to pressurized hydrants, draft water using dry hydrants, or pull directly from static sources like ponds, lakes, pools, and community cisterns.
We applaud all of our engine operators who successfully completed the Master Pump Operator course for their unwavering dedication to keeping Bedford safe!
