We were happy to welcome New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte to Bedford today!

Governor Ayotte spent time speaking with members of the Bedford Fire Department about some of the challenges facing today’s fire service, including electric vehicle fires, PFAS-free turnout gear, and firefighter health and wellness. She also had an opportunity to speak with members of the Bedford NH Police Department about issues important to law enforcement and our community.

Of course, we couldn’t let her leave without checking out our newest fire truck! Governor Ayotte got a firsthand look at Engine 2, including a ride in Bedford’s newest apparatus.

We appreciate Governor Ayotte taking the time to visit, ask questions, and talk with our public safety personnel.

With today being September 11th, the visit also provided an opportunity to reflect on the dedication and sacrifice of first responders and to remember all those we lost 25 years ago.

Thank you for stopping by, Governor! 🇺🇸

Bedford Fire Welcomes Our Newest Apparatus!

The Bedford Fire Department is proud to announce that Engine 2 is now in service, a 2025 Rosenbauer Commander EXT Rescue-Pumper.

This state-of-the-art apparatus is designed to provide Bedford with enhanced firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical capabilities. Features include:

1,000-gallon water tank
1,500 GPM Waterous pump
Foam-Pro foam system
Rescue-pumper capabilities
Fully equipped for ALS medical response

The new apparatus will serve as our first-due engine for incidents requiring a fire apparatus and will also respond to higher-acuity medical calls as an ALS engine, allowing our crews to bring advanced life support capabilities directly to the scene.

This morning, members of Bedford Fire officially welcomed the new apparatus into service with a traditional push-in ceremony. We were pleased to have Town Manager Rick Sawyer and Town Council Chair Phil Greazzo join our members for the occasion.

We would like to thank the Town Council, Town Administration, and the residents of Bedford for their continued support and investment in the equipment our firefighters and paramedics rely on every day.

We look forward to putting this apparatus to work serving the Bedford community for many years to come.

Thank you to Farley White for inviting the on-duty shift to the annual luncheon at Executive Park and Bedford Farms.
In between emergency calls and training the shift was able to enjoy a delicious lunch provided by Lemay & Sons, then soaked their Lieutenant in the dunk tank!
