On arrival the Bedford crew where met with a large fire in a vacated commercial building.

September 6, 2026: At approximately 4:30 a.m. this morning, MHFD Engine 1 responded to to assist Bedford Fire Department with a commercial building fire at 1 West Interstate Street.

Crews arrived to find a well-advanced fire, which required several hours of firefighting operations before it was brought under control.

Multiple fire departments worked together throughout the incident to contain and extinguish the fire.

Bedford Fire Department will be working to determine the cause of the fire.

B shift crews from Bedford and surrounding communities delt with a large commercial fire in the early hours of 9.6.26 at 1 West Interstate. The fire is under investigation, please avoid the area.

Here is a quick clip of the Libby rd parking garage fire. Bedford crews pumped water to the attack engine and then helped to flank the fire with our Rapid Attack Monitor. The apartment buildings on each side were saved. The vehicles within the garage were a total loss.
