The City of Bedford will be conducting fire hydrant flushing. This schedule is tentative and may change due to weather or if work is not completed as planned.

💧 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁:
• Temporary drops in water pressure
• Possible discoloration of tap water

👉 If your water appears discolored, run cold water until it clears.
👉 Please avoid doing laundry and limit hot water use until water runs clear.

Your trash will be collected on Tuesday, January 27.

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆 as our Street & Sanitation crews are continuing to focus all efforts on snow removal to get city roads safe and passable. We will provide an update on when service will be provided after assessing weather and road conditions. ❄️

City offices are closed today. Emergency personnel are still reporting for duty. We appreciate our plow truck drivers who are working diligently; however, the heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures mean clearing efforts take more time. Thank you for your patience.

This image is a screenshot of everywhere we have been since 5:00 PM yesterday. Most of the roads have been covered at least twice , main roads a lot more, all of this to say … stay off the roads if at all possible, it is going to continue for a long while and with the temperatures where they are it’s just quite simply not going to get better for awhile. Effective October 16, 2025, Master Meter and Bedford City Utilities employees may be in your area doing a water meter maintenance register update. Most meter registers were updated by fixed antennas placed at a few locations in town and most meters were updated by this process this summer. The outlying areas such as Williams Rd, Saddle Barn Addition, Heltonville Rd, Fellowship Dr, Brook Knoll, Washington Ave, River Bluff Rd, and Broadview Addition still need the meter register update.

If effected, the process includes Bedford City Utilities employees locating and placing a blue flag next to your meter pit. Master Meter employees will then place a transmitter in the pit that will update your register. A pink flag will be placed next to your meter pit which means your meter register is updating. The transmitter will be picked up the next day and flag removed. Please do not remove either flag. They will be picked up by employees. That concludes the process.

The timeframe for this process could take up until the end of November. This does not affect your read or consumption.
