Hey all

The Bedford Energy Commission and DPW are really, really thrilled to present the people of Bedford with an exciting Town Solar Farm at the Transfer Station.

Watch the first 20 minutes of our last meeting for our presentation.

Putting blighted land to great purpose, this 1.04MW Solar Farm sits atop the landfill at the Transfer Station.

Let’s generate our own power, cut our municipal power charges drastically, realize $13M in return of revenue over 40 years and optimize our productivity and efficiency of our solid waste trash compacting saving $43,125 annually and avoid spending $170k in capital reserve allocations for backhoe replacement.

We can save money, cut the tax burden and in the future expand this system thanks to the town running 3-Phase power down Chubbuck Road.

The energy commission and DPW request your support on 03.14.2023.

Please vote YES for Warrant Article 5.

A stimulating discussion at the 02.24.2022 meeting with Philip Stephenson, member of the Hollis Energy Commission and consultant to CPCNH.

Hollis explores Community Power and considers a consortium of 14 towns - a group that would handle all issues at a modest fee.

This excellent presentation introduces Community Power, argues for the creative collaborative approach. It lasts 54 minutes. Many, many questions raised, anxieties of leaving Eversource for the supply side of our power bill and whether or not this could jeopardize Eversource’s ability to main the grid for the duration of our harsh NH winters.
