Together we do great things! Which included setting goals for the 25-26 year and then working to meet them. The result - service to our community and our local youth, maintaining a strong club, and receiving the following Club Excellence Award:

Congratulations! Your club has earned the Club Excellence Award, the most significant award a Rotary club can achieve, for 2025-26. This past year, your club demonstrated a commitment to achieve its goals, which ultimately helps strengthen Rotary and shape our future.

Sincerely,
Francesco Arezzo
2025-26 RI President

The Bedford Rotary Club was proud to support Berthas Mission’s “Uncover Hunger” event tonight!

🍎 Lawrence County Food Insecurity — Fast Facts

* About 15% of Lawrence County residents are food insecure — roughly 1 in 7 people. The latest county-level estimate reported through the NIH/NIMHD data portal is 15.0%, based on Feeding America’s Map the Meal Gap data.
* Children are particularly affected. A recent Indiana Kids Data Book reports that approximately 16.8% of Lawrence County children experienced food insecurity—about 1 in 6 children.
* Lawrence County is home to about 45,000 people. Current Census-based estimates put the population at approximately 45,100.
* That 15% rate translates to roughly 6,800 people potentially experiencing food insecurity in a year, using the current population estimate as a simple approximation.
* Food insecurity isn’t limited to people living in poverty. Feeding America reports that nearly half of people experiencing food insecurity nationally have incomes too high to qualify for SNAP, meaning working families can still struggle to afford adequate food.
* Local food assistance is significant. An earlier Lawrence County food-system assessment documented more than 1.13 million pounds of food distributed through food banks in one year, or approximately 343 pounds per person below the poverty level.

Please support Bertha’s Mission; they are doing great work!
