Bedford County Parks & Recreation is excited to announce that the Bedford County Board of Supervisors has approved the addition of two adaptive swings at the Falling Creek Park adaptive playground!

Building on the success of the adaptive playground that opened in 2025, this project will create even more opportunities for children of all abilities to play together.

This project is made possible through a partnership with the Bedford Rotary Club, which secured a $12,500 grant to support the project. The remaining costs will be funded through Bedford County Parks & Recreation’s capital reserve funds.

The project will include:
✅ A new one-bay adaptive swing frame
✅ Two inclusive swings with supportive harnesses
✅ Approximately 800 square feet of additional accessible rubber surfacing
✅ Site preparation, grading, and installation

The project is expected to be completed by spring 2027.

We are incredibly grateful to the Bedford Rotary Club for recognizing the importance of inclusive recreation and partnering with Bedford County Parks & Recreation to make this project a reality. 👏

Join us for a night out on the town… literally!

This 1st Annual Bedford Bike Bash is a Community Bike Ride and Celebration with Local First Responders!

In partnership with the Bedford Town Police, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and the Bedford Fire Department, we will provide a safe route through the middle of town, beginning at Falling Creek Park at 4 p.m. and ending at the Country Rec Fields by 5 p.m. Consider joining the ride at any one of the stops that best fits your family’s needs, as specified on the Event’s page: https://www.facebook.com/events/881666535026644

Finish the night out at the County Rec Field in a friendly game of tug-of-war or co****le against some of your local first responders! Inflatables and food will be on-site too! Get comfy and stay for Toy Story 5 being shown on the big screen!

For those who participate in the bike ride, bus shuttles will be running periodically from the County Rec Fields to return you to your car. Please register so we can plan how much transportation we will need.
