⚠️ Planned Power Outage Notice – Big Island Area ⚠️

Bedford Electric has scheduled maintenance at one of our substations to improve system reliability and ensure the continued safe operation of our electric system.

For the safety of our crews, power will need to be temporarily disconnected for Bedford Electric customers in the Big Island area, including locations along Route 122 north of Tolley Meadow Road and areas off U.S. 501.

📅 Planned Outages:

• Monday, June 15, 2026 – Beginning at 5:45 AM for approximately 1 hour

• Tuesday, June 16, 2026 – Beginning at 2:00 PM for approximately 2 hours

We understand power interruptions can be inconvenient and appreciate your patience as our crews complete this necessary work. Every effort will be made to restore service as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to maintain a safe and reliable electric system.

In this episode of Best Little Town, Bedford Town Manager Bart Warner recaps the June 2nd Town Council meeting. Key highlights include the adoption of the FY2026-2027 budget and a BPOL tax increase for large retailers. Council discussions covered the Bedford Middle School renovation, upcoming D-Day commemorations, police staffing concerns, and a Request for Proposals for conservation easement advisory services. The next Town Council meeting is scheduled for June 16th at 7 p.m., 215 East Main Street.
