Thank you to all those that volunteered at the Friends of the Bedford Library Annual Back to School Ice Cream Social! We served over 250 people Mitchell's Ice Cream sundaes, gave away many free books, and gave information about upcoming programs at Cuyahoga County Public Library and Bedford City School District. Thank you Bedford Community.

🍦📚 Sweeten the Start of the School Year!

This August 20th, the Friends of the Bedford Branch Library invite BCSD families to their annual "Back to School Ice Cream Social"!

Mark your calendars and come and join the community for an evening of free Mitchell's Ice Cream sundaes (while supplies last), free children's books, and information about the Bedford Branch Library's youth programs and services available throughout the school year.

The Friends of the Bedford Library along with Bedford Historical Society presented at the Bedford Recreation Department’s Senior Luncheon about Bedford artist Richard Sedlon. We also sold prints of his work to raise money for the Friends of the Library. It was a great event. Thank you to the Bedford Rec for hosting us.

Come to the Friends of the Bedford Library table before the movie for a children’s craft!

The City of Bedford's Liberty Days kicks off Friday with an outdoor Family Movie Night of Hamilton! Disney’s Hamilton brings the hit Broadway musical to the screen, blending hip-hop, R&B, and traditional show tunes to tell the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton—his ambition, legacy, and the birth of a nation.

FREE EVENT & PARKING! Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy an evening of film and fun with friends and family. Pre-show activities and music begin at 4:30pm. Meet Alexander, Schuyler Sisters and King George! America & Hamilton trivia! DJ and music from Jul Big Green! Movie starts at 7:00pm and will be projected on a large video wall.

Fresh popcorn available for purchase at the Bedford Historical Society Museum.

Join us for a fun-filled Storytime in the Park with Bedford Library at the Archibald Willard Pavilion at Ellenwood Center! Enjoy stories, songs, and fingerplays in the fresh air! Families are encouraged to stay and play in the park!

In case of inclement weather, Storytime will move indoors to the Bedford Library. For questions or weather updates, please call the Branch at 440-439-4997.

Do you know a librarian you absolutely 🧡 love 🧡? Nominate them for the prestigious I Love My Librarian Award! The national award recognizes the outstanding public service contributions of librarians working in public, school, college, community college or university libraries.

Ten librarians will receive $5,000 in recognition of their outstanding achievements and be honored during a special ceremony at the 2026 ALA Annual Conference in Chicago.
