Disruption of Water Service and Precautionary Boil Order Notice

Effective immediately on September 14, 2026 a precautionary boil order has been issued for the following areas:
1208 Crawford Drive
1213 Crawford Drive
1218 Crawford Drive
1219 Crawford Drive
1302 Crawford Drive
1305 Crawford Drive
1312 Crawford Drive
1315 Crawford Drive

The precautionary boil order will remain in force until further notice. The order was issued due to repairs to a water main. Customers may experience low pressure or no water while the main is being repaired.

Bring all water to a boil. Let water boil vigorously for 2 minutes. Let water cool before using, or alternatively, use bottled water.

Pre-boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, washing vegetables, washing dishes, making infant formula, all food preparation and consumption, and making or using ice until further notice.

🇺🇸 HOMETOWN HEROES BANNER PROGRAM UPDATE - 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 Bedford Street & Sanitation Department, Indiana 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. This will be the third and final banner installation for 2026. All banners included in the third installation will be fully in place on or before Monday, September 21.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our Street & Sanitation crew balances many responsibilities throughout the week, including caring for and installing these special banners that honor the veterans and loved ones who lived in Lawrence County and have also served our nation 🇺🇸.

Thank you for helping us make the Hometown Heroes Banner Program such a meaningful part of our community! Due to popular demand, we have already been accepting interest surveys for families interested in ordering a Hometown Heroes Banner for 2027. To accommodate as many families as possible, we will need to make some adjustments to next year’s installation schedule. Once details are finalized, we will send out an email to those who registered through our interest form.

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 changed our country forever. It changed the way we saw our neighbors, our communities, our nation, and the meaning of courage.

Today, we honor the 2,977 innocent lives taken from us and hold their families in our hearts. We remember the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military personnel, and ordinary Americans who ran toward danger when every instinct told them to run away. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness remain a lasting part of our nation’s story.

Remembrance is more than looking backward. It is also a responsibility for how we live today.

We can honor those we lost by refusing to take our freedoms, our communities, or one another for granted. And by teaching the next generation not only what happened on September 11, but also the courage, compassion, and unity that followed.

We cannot change what happened 25 years ago. But individually, every one of us has a choice about what we carry forward.

We remember the lives.
We honor the heroes.
We cherish the freedom.
And we choose to be worthy of the sacrifices made that day.

Never forget.

🇺🇸 **25 YEARS LATER — WE REMEMBER** 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago, our nation was changed forever.

On September 11, 2001, firefighters across our country watched as a call unlike any other came over the air. In New York City, 343 members of the FDNY answered that call and ran toward a danger most of us could never imagine.

They went up while others came down.

They went because that is what firefighters do.

They went for the people they had never met, for their brothers and sisters beside them, and for the promise behind the badge — to serve, to protect, and to never leave someone behind.

Today, the Bedford Fire Department honors the 343 firefighters who gave their lives that day, along with the police officers, EMTs, military members, and civilians who were lost.

We remember the families who were left behind.
We remember the heroes who answered the call.
We remember those who still carry the physical and emotional scars of that day.
And we remember the countless acts of courage and compassion that followed.

Twenty-five years later, the lessons remain.

We will never forget their names.
We will never forget their sacrifice.
We will never forget September 11, 2001.
