Thank you Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce and everyone who donated to our toy and gift drive for The Beaverton Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center. Tonight, we dropped off the gifts and spent dinner with Veterans and their families helping 130 Veterans and 20 children. A true reminder to those Veterans that they are supported and valued in Beaverton.

Beaverton Post 124 is recruiting new members! We are a mix of different ages and served during different eras. American Legion is the largest Veteran advocacy group in the Nation ensuring that Veterans receive benefits and medical care that they deserve. We also offer opportunities to do public service events as well as socialize with other local Veterans. Dues are $50 per year and scholarships are available. Disabled veterans are eligible for free parking in the Economy Lot at Portland International Airport (PDX) for up to 14 consecutive days, upon meeting the requirements below.

To receive this benefit, you must present your valid driver license, vehicle registration, and one of the following credentials at a staffed cashier booth when exiting the Economy Lot:

• State-issued Disabled Veteran license plate
• Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) with “service-connected” printed on it
• DD214 showing release from duty due to disability
• Military ID (DD Form 2765/1173) with “DAVPRM” or “DAVTMP” code
• VA Benefits Summary Letter showing a service-connected disability

Please note, all other forms of military or veteran status that do not have "service-connected" printed on them, are not accepted to receive the validated parking. This discount is only available at cashier booths and cannot be processed at Quick Pay machines. The established parking fee for the Economy Lot will be applied for any stay beyond 14 consecutive days.
