We like to cut people some slack and give fair warning because let's face it, we've all been kids once - and some of us still are. Consider this your one and only heads up for the season! By law, we're camera-free in the bathrooms, but the park's got eyes on the grounds. Let's all just agree to use the toilet paper as the magical product it was meant to be.

Just a friendly reminder, the City of Beaverton will be closed on Monday!

As we approach the holiday weekend, we’d like to take a moment to recognize our DPW superstars who go above and beyond the call of duty when needed! 🛠️💪

Did you know that the City of Beaverton’s entire Department of Public Works is managed year-round by just **three full-time workers**?

These individuals handle *everything* that keeps our city running smoothly—from landscaping, streets, and water/sewer maintenance, to managing our hydro dam.

Despite their massive daily workload, they still stepped up over the last two weeks to provide mutual aid to both Beaverton Schools and the City of Gladwin,. 🤝❤️

We are incredibly lucky to have such a dedicated, hard-working crew keeping our community safe and beautiful.

Next time you see your DPW team out and about, please give them a wave and a huge "thank you!"

Have a safe and happy holiday weekend, Beaverton! ☀️🇺🇸

Necessary Growth Isn’t Always Pretty. 🏗️✨

If you look around Beaverton right now, you’ll see orange cones, heavy machinery, and torn-up pavement. It isn't always appealing to look at, and we know it isn't always convenient to drive through.

But here is the truth: All community development has a purpose and a use, even if it’s not always "pretty" in the moment. Construction is the sound of a city moving forward. For too long, resistance to change has kept us standing still. We are putting that resistance to rest because to get the city we want—with reliable infrastructure and a thriving local economy—we have to go through the messy middle.

How these developments support our community:

Supporting Local Businesses: Modern infrastructure means a more reliable environment for our downtown shops and services. Better roads and updated utilities ensure our local businesses can stay open, accessible, and ready to serve you for years to come.

Replacing the Old: We’re moving past "band-aid" fixes and building foundations that will last for decades.

Lowering Your Monthly Costs: This work is paving the way for new housing projects coming down the pipeline. 🏠

The Financial Connection: We understand the pain of rising water and sewer bills. The most effective way to keep those costs down is to increase the number of households sharing the system. By building the capacity for more housing now, we create a larger pool of users to share the infrastructure load, directly supporting the long-term affordability of our city.

The dust will settle, the roads will clear, and what’s left behind will be a Beaverton that is stronger, more efficient, and more sustainable. Thank you for your patience, your continued support of our local shops during this transition, and your commitment to our future.

Let’s keep building!!

Big News for Boaters in Beaverton! 🌊
We are thrilled to announce that the City of Beaverton has been selected as a grant recipient for the 2026 Sea Tow Foundation Life Jacket Loaner Program!

Safety on the water is our top priority, and thanks to the Sea Tow Foundation, we will soon be hosting a Life Jacket Loaner Station right here in our community.

What this means for you:
Free Life Jacket Use: Forgot your life jacket or have an extra guest on board? You'll be able to borrow a Coast Guard-approved life jacket from our new loaner stand and return it when you're finished.

Safety for All Ages: The grant includes life jackets in various sizes to ensure everyone from kids to adults can stay safe on the water.

Coming Soon: We expect our Loaner Stand Building Kit to arrive by the end of May, with the life jackets to follow shortly after.

We can’t wait to get this station up and running in Ross Lake Park to help keep our local boaters and swimmers safe all season long. Stay tuned for updates on the official location and ribbon cutting!

As we approach the summer season, we are reminded of the challenges presented by May's unpredictable weather patterns. May consistently poses difficulties for outdoor activities in the park. Due to ongoing freeze warnings and the absence of heating facilities in all city park bathrooms, they remain closed to the public.

Additionally, please monitor our page for updates regarding power availability in Ross Lake Park. At present, the opening date for the Rotary Splash Park remains uncertain due to ongoing projects and utility relocations. When referring to Ross Lake Park, this also includes the pavilions within the park. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
