--Even in the face of tragedy, courage, compassion, and service can unite people and inspire future generations.--

Today is Patriot Day, which is observed each year on September 11 to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

It is a day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for the courage shown by first responders, military service members, and ordinary citizens.

Established by Public Law 107-89 to honor the victims it is not a Federal Holiday and Government offices and schools remain open.
The U.S. flag is flown at half-staff on all federal buildings and individual homes.

Please consider taking a Moment of Silence this morning at 8:46 a.m. , which marks the time the first plane struck the World Trade Center.

• Honor those who lost their lives.
• Recognize the bravery of first responders and rescue workers.
• Reflect on the resilience of communities affected by the attacks.
• Promote unity, service, and support for one another during difficult times.

We hope you will join us for BINGO, FRIDAY, 11 September (Patriot Day) at American Legion Post 90 in Beaverdam! As always, there are cash prizes, pull tabs and door prizes to win!
Concessions are available. We will be serving Meatball Subs for dinner and as always hotdogs will be available.

We will briefly commemorate Patriot Day remembering those who died during the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City, at the Pentagon and on United Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.

Grab a friend and come out for a fun evening that supports your local American Legion Americanism and Children & Youth Programs.
