Shoup Park Slide update! 🎉 Wow! Thanks to the generosity of our community, 149 donors have contributed a total of $8,582 toward preserving this beloved Beavercreek landmark.

Recently, Beavercreek Parks, Recreation and Culture Director Zach Wike was interviewed by WDTN about the fundraiser and the effort to ensure the Shoup Park slide remains a special place for families for generations to come.

The City of Beavercreek and its parks division are incredibly grateful for the community spirit and support that has been shown. Our goal is to raise approximately $100,000 to install a new custom metal slide, along with drainage improvements, safety surfacing, and shade structures to enhance the experience and protect the site for future use.

We will continue to provide updates as fundraising milestones are reached and new information becomes available.

If you would like to help preserve the Shoup Park slide for years to come, please consider making a tax-deductible gift. Click the link below for more information and to donate: https://beavercreekohio.gov/922/Shoup-Park-Slide

The metal slide at Shoup Park has been more than a piece of playground. It’s been a Beavercreek tradition for nearly 40 years.

After extensive inspections and years of repairs and maintenance, the slide has reached the end of its service life and is permanently closed due to safety concerns. Erosion, structural deterioration, exposed hazards, and outdated design standards mean that replacement is now the only safe and responsible long-term option.

We know how much this slide means to our community because it means a lot to us, too.

That’s why the City of Beavercreek has launched a fundraising campaign in partnership with the Beavercreek Enrichment Association to help bring a new custom metal slide to Shoup Park. The project will also include drainage improvements, modern safety surfacing, and shade structures designed to preserve this beloved experience for future generations.

Because of budget reductions and limited parks funding, this project cannot move forward through traditional funding sources alone. Instead, we’re asking the community to help preserve a piece of Beavercreek history.

Help us keep this Beavercreek tradition alive. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift at https://greenegiving.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1531
