OBSERVING MEMORIAL DAY

Not a day for parades and discounts, itโ€™s for remembering the Americans who actually put it all on the line and didnโ€™t come home. Real service members who swore an oath and paid for our screw-ups with their lives.

The politicians and bureaucrats who sent a lot of them to pointless wars get zero credit today. Just the men and women who showed up and didnโ€™t flinch.

We owe them better than what this country has become. Honor those who gave it all.

BEAVERCREEK IS PAYING ATTENTION

The Smart Plan post is now over ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŽ,๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ ๐ฏ๐ข๐ž๐ฐ๐ฌ and still growing. Residents are tired of watching tax dollars wasted on a money-losing golf course and future City Hall dreams while Council keeps voting to raise taxes.

Council has a simple choice: Cut the obvious waste, close the golf course, sell the land by Lofinoโ€™s, and return that money to taxpayersโ€ฆ

Or keep spending like normal and try to justify more taxes anyway. This shouldnโ€™t require a fight. The Smart Plan offers five straightforward, common-sense steps that show real fiscal responsibility.

Iโ€™m hoping Council chooses the right path and does it voluntarily. ๐–๐ข๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ๐š๐ฐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ข๐ง๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐ญ๐š๐ฑ ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐›๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ๐ญ ๐ข๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ž๐๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ and commit to reducing the size of government.

The ball is in their court.

RECORD COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - THANK YOU, BEAVERCREEK!

Over 54,000 views on this post in just two days.

Beavercreek is clearly ready for a new direction - one where City Council lives within its means and puts taxpayers first.

To reiterate the plan:

1) Close the golf course immediately.
2) Sell the land by Lofino's.
3) Require 60% voter approval for any income tax (charter amendment).
4) Require 60% voter approval for any future charter changes (so future City Councils can't quietly undo #3).
5) Any savings from asset sales or closing losing operations (like the golf course) will be immediately used to lower the cityโ€™s property tax levy by that exact amount.

This is only the beginning. Review all recent city spending and assets (including Spring House Park) for more opportunities to cut waste.

Government must cut spending just like families do in a bad economy.

A SMART PLAN FOR BEAVERCREEK

Before considering any new income tax, Council must show good faith by cutting waste, selling unnecessary assets, and returning money directly to taxpayers:

๐Ÿ. The course has lost money every year since opening in 1996 despite being tax exempt AND even after the bonds were paid off.

Annual savings: $600,000
30-year savings: $18 Million (not adjusted for inflation)

Keep the profitable driving range if a cost study supports it. Convert the rest to walking trails and partner with the state for a nature reserve (modeled after successful conversions like Orchard Hills Park).

๐Ÿ. Prevent any future Council from building a new City Hall on this site. This includes, but is not limited to parcels:

B42000500070005400
B42000500070006200
B42000500070006100
B42000500070006000

One-time gain: $800,000 โ€” returned directly to taxpayers via lower property taxes.

Stop future Councils from pushing taxes that exempt key voting blocs while hitting working families.

This is just the start. Conduct a full review of all city-owned assets, recent land purchases, and contracts. Sell anything bought primarily for future tax-funded projects.

(Someone go find me how much City Council wanted to blow on pickleball courts at Spring House Park, because City Council wasted your money on that, too.)

Cutting wasteful spending means putting more money in your pocket.

'NO' IS A COMPLETE SENTENCE

We teach children on the school playground: "No means no." Consent is mandatory before proceeding.

Yet somehow Beavercreek City Council still can't grasp the concept. They've never grasped the concept going back to 1984.

Your income is yours. It comes from your time, your effort, and the choices you voluntarily made. Beavercreek voters have crushed this tired old income tax proposal five times already.

Get the hint, City Council. We aren't paying for your $15M City Hall building over by Lofino's. Sell the land and give it up.

No income tax in the 'Creek.

NOT NOW. NOT EVER!

THERE'S SOMETHING VERY FAMILIAR ABOUT ALL THIS

City Council has been trying to get their hands on a local income tax for decades, and the voters of Beavercreek have shut it down every single time.

Crushed at the ballot box in 1984 by a 4-1 margin.
Crushed at the ballot box in 1994 by a 4-1 margin.

2013: 1.5% income tax + expiring levies as bait. Crushed.
2020: 1% income tax + expiring levies as bait. Crushed.
2022: 1% income tax + expiring levies as bait. Crushed.
2024: Tried to change the City Charter to sneak it in without a vote. Crushed.

Now in 2026, theyโ€™re back again with the same 1% income tax, bundled with expiring levies as carrots.

It will be crushed too.

NOT NOW. NOT EVER!

MYTHBUSTING

MYTH: An income tax is needed to diversify the city's sources of revenue.

FACT: An income tax is only serves to diversify the city's spending.

The current raft of property tax levies are limited by Ohio state law on what they can be spent: police, roads, etc must be explicitly stated in the ballot language. And City Council wasted $38,000 of your money on a consultant to prove the obvious last year.

An income tax has no such restriction, and instead is deposited into City Council's slush fund to do whatever they please.

First on their list: a $15M City Hall building at your expense.

No income tax in the Creek. VOTE NO IN NOVEMBER.

Not now. Not ever!

"MODIFY YOUR OPINIONS"
.. says a retired City Council member in my private messages.

Debborah, the 'learn the facts' lecture from a former Council member is rich.

Beavercreek residents have spoken loudly and clearly every single time since 1984. We donโ€™t want your income tax. Nobody's interested in 'learning the facts and modifying their opinions.'

Since this page started in 2020, weโ€™ve already kept $135 million in our own pockets instead of handing it over for a new City Hall.

The people arenโ€™t misinformed. Theyโ€™re just not buying what City Council keeps selling.

No income tax in the Creek.

Not now. Not ever.

$135 MILLION SAVED SO FAR

Since 2020, the VOTE NO movement has saved Beavercreek residents and small businesses $135 million and counting.

We defeated the 1% income tax in 2020.

We beat it again in 2022.

We stopped City Councilโ€™s attempt to sneak it in through a charter change in 2024.

That money is staying in your pockets instead of funding City Councilโ€™s dreams of a fancy new City Hall.

Weโ€™ll defeat it again in 2026.

No income tax in the Creek.

Not now. Not ever.

WHY CITY COUNCIL IS OBSESSED WITH INCOME TAX

Simple. In 2021, City Council bought 3.25 acres near Lofinoโ€™s, explicitly to build a new $15M City Hall at your expense. City Manager Pete Landrum said so publicly.

They tried for the income tax in 2022. Failed.

Tried to sneak it in by changing the charter so we couldn't vote on it in 2024. Failed.

Now theyโ€™re back in 2026. They'll fail again.

Why? Because property taxes are restricted by law to roads, police, etc. An income tax is a blank check โ€” a flexible slush fund with no limits.

First thing on the list? That fancy new City Hall.

Not now. Not ever.

Vote NO on November 3.
