Got a lot of responses from the 1975 baseball post. Beaver Falls has won four WPIAL Baseball Championships.
The 69’ and 75’ teams have the most wins in a season. They are considered the top two teams in school history.
I think there are a few more that can make a case for that. What do you think?

A follow up to our baseball post when we mentioned the playgrounds in Beaver Falls.
This article was printed in The New Tribune. Not sure what year. Kinda says it all.
My first memory of our playground director was Mr. Contino and Miss Whiteside. Also, the oldest of the Wagner children Cathey.
George Alderson took over for Mr. Contino at Moltrups.
We were City Champions at everything. Kick ball, wiffle ball, horseshoes, we took organized hikes, had we**ie roasts, boxing matches.
It was great

Found this pic on Facebook and many memories came rushing back. Maybe the best group collectively ( all same age) that played baseball through the years in BF were the boys of 1975.
From little league days all the way through pony league, c**t league, high school and Jr Legion, no one accomplished more than this group. Won both post season all star tournaments in LL. Crushed teams in exhibition Pony league tournament. Won everything in Colts, WPIAL in high school, county, regional, district, and state runner up in JR Legion.
The best thing about that team is that the core of the team were all players from my neighborhood ( Molltrup) . Neighborhoods then were defined by the playground there. In this picture, all lived within three blocks of me, except one, our sensational shortstop Nick Nardone.
Walker, Hogue, Milozewski, Wooley, Manzetti all Moltrup guys from downtown. Nick from Koppel. The 1975 ballers have second most victories in a season at BF (22) behind only 1969 team (23).
All players in this picture are rated close to the top all time at their positions.

Getting excited here. The plaques are in and we’re getting ready for our big weekend on September 11 and 12.
The Larry Bruno Foundation have been purchasing plaques from one of the premier plaque makers in the country, The Massillon Plaque Company of North Canton Ohio. The same maker that supplies the NFL Hall of Fame. As a matter of fact, the property that the HOF sits in Canton was donated to them by the owners of Massillon Plaque. It’s one of the small things that makes our organization our organization special.
Tickets are still available for this special event September 12 at Shadow Lakes Country Club. Use our website to buy or call Ed at 412-298-1430.
We are awarding Bob Middleman our community award this year, a moment you don’t want to miss.
Our inductees are top shelf as usual and a wonderful night is expected.
See you there.

It is with much sadness that LBF has learned of the passing of Dave Allen . Dave was a tireless volunteer for LBF the last fifteen years . His help and support has meant very much to us, and has been a loyal friend as well.
We certainly will miss Dave.
Condolences to wife and family.
