Jefferson County Deputies attended the annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony hosted by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
We pause to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless first responders, military members, families, and communities forever impacted by that tragic day.
We will always remember the courage, sacrifice, and unity displayed in the face of tragedy.
United in remembrance. United in honor. United for good.

Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate the incredible women who serve in law enforcement across America on National Police Women Day.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office would especially like to acknowledge our Sheriff, Zena Stephens, for her leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving our community.

Thanks to Bishop Toups and the Diocese of Beaumont for partnering with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office to provide two Masses for both men and women who signed up to attend the service at the jail chapel.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is assisting DPS with a hazmat incident near Stuckey’s at the 838-mile marker. The Beaumont Fire Department’s hazmat team is on scene working to make the area safe.

Once the hazmat is contained, Stuckey’s will reopen. However, workers will remain in the area to remove the items from the trailer.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek an alternate route while emergency personnel and workers remain on scene.

Please use caution and stay clear of the area. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.

All good this morning in Bevil Oaks. No roads or homes have been affected by floodwaters, and it would take several more feet of water before the roads are impacted.
