The transition from Sergeant First Class to Master Sergeant marks one of the most defining milestones in a Soldier’s career a true evolution of identity within the Noncommissioned Officer Corps. This promotion reflects not only years of professionalism, discipline, and technical mastery, but also a legacy of unwavering service to the United States Army. It signifies a leader who has earned the trust to influence the force at a higher level and shape the next generation of NCOs.

🎄842nd Transportation Battalion Christmas Celebration🎄


The 842nd Transportation Battalion kicked off the holiday season with a battalion run, followed by our annual Christmas party with families and friends. The event strengthened morale, camaraderie, and family readiness across the Warhorse team.

From an Ugly Sweater Competition and White Elephant exchange to children’s games, crafts, cookie decorating, and festive photo ops there was something for everyone. A great day of connection, celebration, and building on the strong family support that keeps our team missionready.

842nd Thanksgiving Tailgate

The Warhorse family and local Port partners came together for our 842nd Thanksgiving Tailgate, enjoying great food, weather, and even better company. Everyone showed off their team spirit by wearing their favorite sports jerseys while enjoying some games. Plenty of laughs and a little bit of competition, and even more teamwork.

Team took advantage of the group to proudly recognize two outstanding employees, Mr. Don Burns and Mr. Larry Ordway, for their remarkable milestone of 40 years of federal service. We are deeply grateful for their contributions and inspired by their example. Congratulations on this extraordinary accomplishment!

Also, congratulations to Mr. Chad Martin from Port of Beaumont, for winning the Dip Competition. His dip took home the win and bragging rights.

Events like this remind us of the importance of slowing down, strengthening the bonds within our formation, and taking the time to recognize truly outstanding achievements. Proud of our team, our Warhorse spirit, and everything the 842nd continues to accomplish.

The 842nd Transportation Battalion, including LTC Dezerie Jemmott, SGM Randall Gibson, SHARP Advisor Mrs. Jackson, and the Fort Polk, LA Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Team, conducted impactful outreach regarding SHARP throughout Beaumont visiting vital organizations such as the Crisis Center of Southeast Texas, Beaumont Police Department, CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital, Child Abuse & Forensic Services, and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.

Through these visits, the team not only raised awareness for SHARP and clarified available procedures and resources but also laid the foundation for lasting partnerships with key community stakeholders. These engagements foster trust, mutual understanding, and open lines of communication ensuring that both military and civilian entities are aligned in their commitment to prevention, response, and survivor support.

These efforts continue to strengthen the profession and the fabric of our community, creating a more unified and resilient support network. These relationships are essential in building a culture of accountability, compassion, and collaboration where every individual feels seen, heard, and protected.

Today, the Warhorse team lowered our flag in solemn remembrance of the lives lost, the heroes who rose, and the resilience that defines our nation. September 11th is more than a date. It is a reminder of courage, sacrifice, and unity. We honor the innocent lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the service members who answered the call in the years that followed.

Let this day renew our commitment to protect what matters most. We stand ready, together.

LTC Dezerie Jemmott, Commander, 842nd Transportation Battalion, participated in the “Mobilizing Military Logistics in Texas: Missions, Procurement & Collaboration” panel at the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA) Texas 2025 Regional Meeting, held in the iconic Texas State Capitol. Moderated by NDTA North Texas President Stephen Bullard, the panel brought together leaders from across the defense logistics ecosystem to share perspectives on the current and future state of military logistics across Texas.

Representing the Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), LTC Jemmott discussed how the 842nd leverages Texas’ strategic port infrastructure, specifically Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Corpus Christi to synchronize the global movement of equipment and materiel. She highlighted the critical importance of Reserve Soldiers, who provide invaluable depth and flexibility to the mission, and emphasized the need for continued investment in infrastructure resilience. LTC Jemmott also underscored the essential role of industry and port partners, the “4th Component”, whose collaboration and agility are fundamental to operational success. The strength of these relationships enables the battalion to diversify operations, build redundancy, and deliver at the speed of need.

This Texas 2025 Regional Meeting served as a dynamic platform for collaboration among military, government, and private-sector partners. The event, themed around enhancing military logistics in Texas, featured insightful sessions that tackled topics ranging from infrastructure investment to procurement strategy. The setting was a symbol of Texas pride and resilience, reinforced the importance of the shared mission in supporting national defense. NDTA continues to play a vital role in facilitating these cross-sector dialogues, ensuring the logistics enterprise remains agile, integrated, and prepared to meet todays and tomorrow’s challenges.
