We’re thrilled to announce that the City of Beaumont has secured $2 million in federal funding - with support from Congressman Raul Ruiz, MD - to move the Pennsylvania Grade Separation Project forward! 🚗

The $140M project will separate vehicle traffic from passing trains, eliminate delays, and improve safety at the railroad crossing for both pedestrians and commuters. 🚶🚲

Investing in our infrastructure means investing in Beaumont’s future. This project will ease congestion, support our growing community, and improve quality of life for all residents.

State Route 60 WB has reopened to traffic at the I-10 interchange. Expect delays and remain alert for firefighters, law enforcement, and heavy equipment operating in the area. State Route 60 EB remains open.

Highway 60 westbound has reopened at the I-10 interchange. Motorists should continue to use caution in the area as firefighters remain engaged in suppression and containment operations.

Residents may continue to see smoke from interior hotspots within the fire footprint. This activity is being monitored by crews and does not indicate significant fire growth.

[EVENING UPDATE 6/19/26 7:00PM] The fire remains at 3,085 acres and is now 91% contained. Firefighters have made significant progress extinguishing interior hotspots, completing mop-up operations, and continuing suppression repair activities throughout the incident area.

The evacuation WARNING for the Shore Fire Perimeter will remain in effect through the weekend to ensure the safety of both residents and firefighters as crews continue their work.

This will be the final Shore Fire update until Monday morning, June 22, 2026.

[EVENING UPDATE 6/19/26 7:00PM] The fire remains at 3,085 acres and is now 78% contained. Firefighters made significant progress today strengthening containment and control lines and conducting mop-up operations on smoldering hotspots within the fire area.

Crews will continue suppression repair efforts, strengthen containment lines, and patrol the fire perimeter throughout the evening. The Damage Inspection Team is completing assessments of structures impacted by the incident.

An evacuation WARNING remains in effect for the Shore Fire Perimeter only. All other evacuation ORDERS and WARNINGS have been canceled.

No injuries reported.

Ground crews and dozer operators made significant progress overnight establishing and strengthening containment and control lines around the fire perimeter. Increased relative humidity and a persistent marine layer contributed to favorable firefighting conditions and supported suppression efforts.

Today, crews will continue strengthening containment lines, begin mop-up operations, and monitor and extinguish remaining hotspots within the fire area.

The evacuation ORDER for the Shore Fire Perimeter zone remains in effect, along with the surrounding evacuation WARNINGS. Fire officials continue to evaluate conditions and will adjust evacuation statuses when it is safe to do so.

🚧☀️ Summer improvements underway near Sundance Elementary ☀️🚧

Work is now underway on the 8th Street Sidewalk Improvement Project between Xenia Ave and Allegheny St.

This project will improve pedestrian safety and roadway conditions with a new sidewalk, curb and gutter, roadway widening—creating a more complete and permanent street design.

Construction is taking place during summer break and is expected to be completed prior to students returning to school.

***Postponed****

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department will be conducting a controlled burn in the San Timoteo Canyon area on June 3–4.

Residents may see smoke in the area during operations; however, smoke impacts are expected to be minimal and temporary. Motorists traveling through the area should also expect slower traffic and possible delays during burn operations.

Burn operations are scheduled from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
