On September 14th, students and teachers gathered to wear orange in remembrance of a student, Victoria Desylva, who passed away from leukemia in 2021. Victoria was the daughter of Jen Marlow and sister of Angelina Desylva, two members of our Learning Center Student Support.

September is Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness month. We wear orange in remembrance and support of those battling cancer.

Today, our community is holding space for remembrance and peace as we observe September 11th. We are focusing on the universal Montessori values of harmony, kindness, and community in our classrooms, and guiding students toward actions that build a peaceful world.

Students set the flag at half mast and joined other schools at 8:46 am in a moment of silence to honor those who lost their lives.

Providing a supported educational environment is a top priority at LMS. Which is why our federally funded CTE courses are on campus, allowing students a seamless transition between their academic and vocational education.

Today, we gathered to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Maria Montessori, founder of the Montessori Method.

The Montessori Method, first developed over one hundred years ago, has been widely recognized by researchers and educators.

Montessori teaching intends to foster the creativity of students by encouraging them to play independently. Students often can choose what to work with, and they interact with Montessori materials rather than with traditional toys. Through discovery rather than direct instruction, they work to develop independence, self-reliance, and confidence.
