Today, Beaufort Fire Department crews are spending time with some of our newest firefighters and drivers, building skills and gaining experience through hands-on training.

Crews are working on hose evolutions and ventilation operations, focusing on the fundamentals that help us serve our community safely and effectively. Training like this ensures our firefighters are prepared for the challenges they may face on the fireground.

Recently, Beaufort firefighters participated in training provided by ENC ABA, focused on autism awareness and practical strategies for interacting with and supporting individuals with autism during emergencies and crisis situations.

As part of this effort, our fire apparatus will now carry communication cards and sensory bags equipped with items that can help provide comfort, support self-regulation, and meet sensory needs during stressful situations.

Together, we can build a safer, more understanding community for everyone. 💙🚒

Beaufort Fire Department crews have been hard at work sharpening their skills through bailout drills and hose advancement training. These hands-on evolutions challenge firefighters to think quickly, work efficiently, and stay prepared for the demanding situations they may face on the job.

Training is a constant part of the fire service. Every drill is an opportunity to learn, refine techniques, and build confidence so that when the call comes, our crews are ready to serve the community safely and effectively.

Today, the Beaufort Firemen's Association, proudly donated 100% of the proceeds from our Autism Acceptance shirt sales to Boundless Horizons in partnership with our friends at ENC ABA.

Boundless Horizons, a program of Camp Albemarle, was created to serve young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through faith, community, life-skills development, and meaningful outdoor experiences.

We are grateful for everyone who purchased a shirt and helped make this donation possible. Your support is helping create opportunities for individuals with disabilities to learn, grow, and thrive in an environment built on acceptance, belonging, and respect. ❤️💙💛

Glad to have you on our team, Matt!

🚒 MEET THE TEAM! Matt Bruscino, Fire Fighter 👨‍🚒

For Matt, one of the best parts of working for the Town of Beaufort is the opportunity to learn new skills, participate in training, and work alongside great people. Continuous learning is an important part of the fire service, and he values the experience and growth that comes with the job.

Matt believes his work serves the community by being there for people on what may be the worst day of their lives. Whether responding to a medical emergency, providing comfort during a crisis, or helping someone in need, he understands the importance of showing compassion and professionalism in every call.

His greatest accomplishment is making his family proud of the work he does. Knowing that his dedication and service positively reflect on those closest to him gives him a strong sense of purpose and pride.

Thank you for your commitment to serving our community, Matt!
