We appreciated the opportunity to share safety information with the kids.

The Boys and Girls Club of Hilton Head Island welcomed members of the sheriff’s office to teach children practical safety tips for the summer months Thursday.

06/18/2026

What a great way to start the day connecting with some of Beaufort County’s youngest community members!

Our deputies spent the morning at the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island, where we had the opportunity to meet with children and teens of all ages. We shared important safety information, talked about making good choices, and discussed the importance of being a positive role model in our community.

We also joined the fun at the Beaufort County Library System's Lobeco Branch Touch-A-Truck event, where kids got an up-close look at one of our patrol vehicles and learned more about what our deputies do each day to keep Beaufort County safe.

Building relationships with our youth today helps create a stronger, safer community for tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us and made these events such a success!

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved Bloodhound, Molly.

Molly joined the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office in 2023 after arriving from Pennsylvania. She was specially trained to track missing and endangered individuals, serving our community with dedication and determination.

While Molly took her job seriously, her favorite role was being a community ambassador. She never met a stranger and happily accepted every hug, kiss, belly rub, and ear scratch that came her way. Her gentle spirit, loving nature, and wagging tail brought smiles to countless faces throughout Beaufort County.

Molly was diagnosed with an incurable illness, and on June 1, 2026, she peacefully lost her battle. She touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of meeting her, and her impact on our agency and community will never be forgotten.

Thank you, Molly, for your service, your loyalty, and most of all, the unconditional love and joy you shared with everyone around you.

You will be deeply missed. 🐾💙
