🇺🇸✈️Passing the Torch at VMFT-402 🎖️

Thank you, Lt. Col. Andrew R. Christ, for your leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the Marines and mission of VMFT-402. As we bid farewell to an outstanding commander, we also welcome Lt. Col. John F. Carter as the squadron’s new commanding officer.

The change of command ceremony aboard MCAS Beaufort marked both the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, reflecting the Marine Corps’ tradition of excellence, continuity, and service.

Naval Air Station Beaufort, 1943 ✈️🌊🛩️

Commissioned on June 15, 1943, Naval Air Station Beaufort served as a center for advanced training of anti-submarine patrol squadrons during World War II. Operating along the Southeastern seaboard, these patrols helped safeguard vital shipping routes during a critical period of the war. 🇺🇸⚓

More than 80 years later, the legacy of readiness, aviation excellence, and service established here continues at MCAS Beaufort.

🇺🇸 Congressional Staff Tour at MCAS Beaufort ✈️

MCAS Beaufort welcomed directors from Congresswoman Nancy Mace’s office for a tour and series of briefings highlighting the installation’s mission and capabilities.

The staff received briefings on the history, mission, and operations of MCAS Beaufort, Townsend Bombing Range, and Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron 501 gaining insight into the F-35B Lightning II and the critical roles of Marine Aircraft Group 31 and VMFAT-501 in training and readiness.

Thank you for the opportunity to showcase the Marines, Sailors, and aviation professionals who support our nation’s defense every day. 🦅

🇺🇸 Semper Fi & Fair Winds, Sgt. Maj. Allen! 🦅

After a distinguished career of honorable service, U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. John H. Allen II, command senior enlisted leader with Marine Air Logistics Squadron 31, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, was recognized with the Meritorious Service Medal during his retirement ceremony at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, on June 5, 2026. 🇺🇸🏅

Sgt. Maj. Allen’s leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to Marines have left a lasting impact across the Fleet Marine Force. As he concludes his Marine Corps career, we thank him for his years of faithful service to our Corps and nation. 🤝

On May 25, MCAS Beaufort joined the local community in commemorating Memorial Day during the annual Beaufort Memorial Day Ceremony.

This solemn event honors the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation and our freedoms. Through remembrance and reflection, we pay tribute to their courage, selflessness, and enduring legacy. 🌹

As we gather to honor our fallen heroes, we are reminded that their sacrifice will never be forgotten and that their service continues to inspire future generations. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 MALS-31 Relief and Appointment Ceremony ✈️🎖️

On May 15, Marines, Sailors, family members, and friends gathered to honor a significant leadership transition during the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31 (MALS-31) Relief and Appointment Ceremony.

The squadron recognized Sgt. Maj. John H. Allen II for his outstanding service, steadfast leadership, and unwavering dedication to the Marines and mission of MALS-31. His commitment has left a lasting impact on the unit and the Marines he served alongside. 👏🇺🇸

MALS-31 also welcomed incoming Sgt. Maj. Wandy O. Rodriguezabreu, who officially assumed his new role and responsibility as the squadron's senior enlisted leader. We look forward to his leadership and continued support of the Marines and Sailors of MALS-31. ⚓🦅🌎

🏃‍♀️🇺🇸 Elliott Elementary Students Rise to the Challenge! 💪📚

Students with Elliott Elementary School conducted the Presidential Fitness Test at Laurel Bay as the program returns to Department of War Education Activity schools on military installations worldwide.

From push-ups to shuttle runs, students demonstrated teamwork, determination, and physical readiness while promoting healthy lifestyles and resilience. The renewed program supports fitness initiatives across 159 military-connected schools, helping prepare the next generation for success both inside and outside the classroom. 🏅🔥
