Lane Closure Notice 🚧

The outside southbound lane of US Hwy. 77/6th Street will be closed near Court Street on Friday morning, September 11, to allow for new sidewalk concrete to be poured at the Paddock Building.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) has notified the City of Beatrice that work on Highway 136 (Court Street) will begin Monday, September 14, 2026. 👷‍♂️

📍 Project area: 21st Street to 2nd Street
Work will begin at the east end and progress west.

The project will include:
• Concrete patching and curb repairs
• Milling of the existing roadway
• New asphalt resurfacing

🚗 What to expect:
Traffic will be shifted to the center lane while crews work. Motorists should expect lane shifts, reduced speeds and possible delays. A pilot vehicle may be used in special circumstances.

🚧 Access to residences and businesses may be temporarily restricted as work progresses through different sections of the project.

⏳ The project is expected to take approximately 30 working days, weather permitting. Traffic patterns and access may change as construction progresses.

Please slow down, stay alert and give construction crews room to work. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation while this important roadway improvement project is completed.

Last night, Mayor Morgan proclaimed September 10, 2026, as "Big Give Gage Day" in Beatrice! The proclamation recognizes the community-wide generosity and spirit of giving that make the Big Give Gage campaign possible. 🧡💜

Accepting the proclamation were Gage County Foundation Board Members Terry Doyle and Kelly Burken, along with Kelly’s kids, Rye & Ora, and Executive Director Dee Enevoldsen.

All Monday, September 7, residential garbage, recycling, and yard waste routes will be collected on Tuesday, September 8.

🏢 Commercial Garbage Routes
• Monday, September 7, once-per-week commercial garbage → Tuesday, September 8
• Commercial recycling → Wednesday, September 9

⏰ Please have your containers at the curb by 6:00 a.m. to ensure collection. Collection times may vary.
