1/26/26 We have received numerous calls this morning, asking for us to come plow private driveways/roads. Unfortunately, municipalities cannot plow, and or maintain private property. So we are posting this in hopes that if you have a local business who is capable of plowing this much snow, could you please post your information in the comments?

Thank you - stay safe

Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger has issued a Local Emergency Order establishing a Countywide travel ban beginning Sunday, January 25 at 7 AM, in advance of a long‑duration winter storm expected to bring significant snow accumulations and hazardous conditions.

The storm is forecast to create dangerous travel conditions, slow snow‑removal operations, and impact emergency response. Out of an abundance of caution, and following a determination that public safety is at risk due to the impending storm, the following restrictions will be in effect:

TRAVEL BAN DETAILS
- All non‑essential vehicular travel is prohibited on public roadways within Ulster County.
- Only essential emergency vehicles and essential personnel are permitted to travel.
- Start: 7 AM on January 25, 2026
- End: 12 PM on January 26, 2026 (unless extended or revoked)

Residents are urged to stay off the roads, allow plow crews to work safely and efficiently, and avoid putting themselves or first responders in danger.

Additional updates will be provided at ulstercountyny.gov, and shared through Ulster County’s official channels.

For additional information on storm response, visit ulstercountyny.gov/Departments/Emergency-Services

We are ready! Trucks are loaded and chains are on. Please stay safe by staying off the roads Sunday and Monday.

We are ready! Trucks are loaded and chains are on. Please stay safe by staying off the roads Sunday and Monday.

A significant, long-duration winter storm will impact eastern New York and western New England Sunday through Monday, bringing widespread heavy accumulations of snow, ranging from 12-18” for most and 18-24” for isolated areas of the Eastern Catskills and Southern Greens. Snowfall rates may exceed one inch per hour at times, especially Sunday afternoon into Sunday night, which will significantly reduce visibility. Additionally, the Monday morning commute will likely be significantly impacted due to snow-covered roads and walkways, leading to hazardous travel conditions, and areas of reduced visibility due to ongoing light snow.
