🗳 TODAY 5/5/26 is Election Day! 🗳
Let's get out the vote and show that our voices cannot be silenced!
You must go to your assigned precinct to vote! Check your registration card or by visiting https://govotetn.gov to look up your registration to confirm which precinct you should go to.
Polls open from 9am to 8pm. See post caption for more details about primary voting.
Let's go, Grainger County! Make your voice count!
Grainger County - Election Day is TOMORROW! Here's what you need to know:
Your ballot choice sends a signal. ***Even if there’s no competitive race,*** pulling a Democratic ballot helps show:
○ Where Democratic voters are
○ How many people are engaging in the party’s primary
○ This data matters for future organizing
● It shapes where resources go. Turnout in primaries helps parties and candidates decide:
○ Where to invest money
○ Where to organize and canvass
○ Which communities to prioritize.
● It builds the bench for future candidates. Strong primary participation, even in uncontested races, can:
○ Encourage future Democratic candidates to run
○ Show there’s a base of support
○ Strengthen long-term organizing infrastructure
● TN has open primaries. You do NOT have to be registered with a political party to vote in a primary election.
● You choose your ballot at the polls. When you vote, you simply choose which party’s ballot you want, Democratic or Republican.
● You can only choose one. You must pick one party’s ballot per election, you cannot vote in both primaries.
● You may be asked to affirm party preference, but this is NOT binding. It’s not enforced and it has never been prosecuted.
● No party registration required. TN does not register voters by party. Your ballot choice is one of the only signals of your political participation.
For Grainger County voters:
If your district has a qualified candidate (district 5), we encourage you to show up for them!
For those districts without a qualified candidate, please do not be intimidated by a blank ballot! Casting a blank Democratic ballot STILL COUNTS as a Democratic Ballot and it sends a message that there ARE Democrats in Grainger County. (Note - If you do cast a blank ballot, the machine might initially reject it as though there is an error - you should be able to override that by selecting the "as is" button and submitting again. Ask a poll worker for help if needed!)
Your vote is your voice!
