🚔 Please join us in welcoming our newest full-time Officer Celeste Robitaille! 🚔

The Beacon Falls Police Department is proud to welcome Officer Celeste Robitaille as the newest full time member of our department!

Officer Robitaille holds an impressive 30+ years of law enforcement experience, having served as a Lieutenant with the Stratford Police Department before joining the Beacon Falls Police Department in 2022 as a part-time Officer.

Throughout her career, Officer Robitaille has demonstrated a strong commitment to public safety, professionalism, leadership, and service to the community. We are excited to welcome her to the Beacon Falls Police Department in her new position and we look forward to the experience and knowledge she will continue to bring to our team.

We are excited to share some great news!

Cadet Steczkowski and Officer Olivero will be representing our Cadet Program at the 2026 NERLEEA Cadet Police Academy from
July 12–18. 🚔

Cadet Steczkowski will be participating in the Basic Program, where all first-year cadets begin their academy experience. Throughout the week, she’ll focus on physical fitness, drill and marching, teamwork, leadership, classroom instruction, and hands-on law enforcement training. The week concludes with a formal drill competition, giving cadets the opportunity to demonstrate everything they’ve learned.

The NERLEEA Cadet Police Academy is an annual paramilitary-style academy that brings together nearly 500 cadets and more than 100 law enforcement officers and staff from across the region. The academy offers six progressive training programs, allowing returning cadets to build their knowledge and skills each year as they advance through the different levels.

Please join us in wishing Cadet Steczkowski the very best as she embarks on this incredible opportunity. This is a tremendous experience, one that will challenge her and create memories that will last a lifetime. We are proud to have her representing our program, and we know she’ll do an outstanding job. 👏

Summer has kicked down the door and it's officially here as we approach this Independence Day weekend. Here are some quick safety tips to keep you and others safe during this heat wave.

The Beacon Falls Senior Center is open as a cooling center for those who may need it. In addition, trash pickup will begin an hour earlier on Friday morning to help those crews stay safe.

Please know that heat stroke is a serious medical emergency that happens when the body's temperature rises to 104 degrees. Signs and symptoms of heat stroke include confusion, slurred speech, seizures, red/hot/dry skin (the body may stop sweating), nausea, vomiting, rapid breathing, rapid pulse, and headache. Call 911 immediately if you suspect someone is having a heat stroke and take any possible measures to lower their body temperature immediately using cold water or ice.

Carnival and Parade Route Schedule

With the carnival comes Saturday's parade, so be prepared for some traffic interruptions Saturday evening:

The following road closures and detours will be in effect during the Beacon Hose Parade on Saturday, June 28, from approximately 4:45-6:30 p.m.

Route 8 South, Exit 21: Off-ramp closed (on-ramp will be open)
Route 8 North, Exit 21: No right turn onto South Main Street (left turn only)
Depot Street bridge: Closed
South Main Street at Fairfield Place: No left turn onto South Main Street
South Main Street at Bethany Road: Closed
Bethany Road at Feldspar Avenue: Closed (all traffic on Route 42 West must turn onto Feldspar)
Bethany Road at Avenue E: Closed
Bethany Road at Avenue C: No right turn onto Bethany Road (left turn only)
Various detours in the Avenues
Bethany Road between Bonna/Cook and Feldspar Avenue: Closed (detours over Cook Lane/Burton Road)


Recommended detours for those planning to travel through Beacon Falls during this time are encouraged to use Skokorat Road (to/from Seymour) or Burton Road to Church Street (to Route 8 North).

N Main St will remain closed from Burton Rd to the Route 8 North entrance ramp for the remainder of the evening after the parade concludes.
