Yesterday, Captain Peterson and Firefighter Coyne had the opportunity to visit the Mandel Jewish Day School during their field day festivities. The students got an up-close look at one of our fire trucks, learned a little about the fire service, and had a chance to ask questions and explore the apparatus.

Thank you to the staff and students for having us out — we always enjoy connecting with the community and spending time with the kids!

American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR Class

Beachwood Fire Department is hosting a Heartsaver CPR class on May 4th at 08:30 am at Fire Station # 2 - 3777 Richmond Rd Beachwood, OH. We still have open spots!

❄️ WINTER STORM SAFETY MESSAGE ❄️

A major winter storm is impacting large parts of the U.S. The National Association of State Fire Marshals (NASFM) urges everyone to take steps now to stay safe.

🔥 Keep space heaters at least 3 feet from anything that can burn
⚠️ Never use ovens, grills, or generators to heat your home
🚨 Make sure smoke alarms and CO alarms are working
🕯️ Avoid candles—use flashlights when possible
🔌 Prepare for power outages with flashlights, batteries, and warm clothing
🚗 Avoid travel unless absolutely necessary

Cold weather increases the risk of fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. Preparation and safe choices save lives.

🚨Big Week for the Beachwood Fire Department! 🚒

This week at the City Council Meeting, we proudly welcomed Shianne Wright, who was officially sworn in as a Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic. Shianne brings years of experience from the Hambden Fire Department, and we are excited to welcome her to Beachwood.

We also recognized FF/Paramedic Mike Holtzman, who was named Firefighter of the Year for 2025. Mike is a dedicated member of the department, serving on the Training Committee and as a department mentor. This award is well deserved, as his knowledge, skills, and passion for the job truly set the standard.

We are fortunate to have so many talented men and women serving the City of Beachwood.

2025 was another record breaking year as we ran an unofficial total of 6,120 calls.

That’s an increase of 6.3% from 2024’s previous record breaking total of 5,760.

We look forward to serving the community in 2026.
