The Beachwood Police Department is aware of a flyer circulating on social media and throughout the community promoting a so-called "takeover" event at Beachwood Place.

Let us be clear: behavior that threatens public safety, disrupts businesses, damages property, or intimidates visitors will not be tolerated. Our department is working closely with mall management and community partners to ensure a safe environment for shoppers, employees, and families.

This is not a Beachwood Place-sanctioned event, and the mall is private property. Anyone who chooses to engage in unlawful activity can expect an immediate and appropriate law enforcement response. We will utilize every available resource to maintain public safety and protect both our community and mall property. There will be zero tolerance for criminal activity. Individuals who violate the law will be arrested and held accountable for their actions.

If you come to Beachwood Place to shop, dine, work, or patronize its businesses, we will be there to support you. If you come to create disruption, engage in criminal behavior, or threaten the safety of others, we will be there as well, and you should expect to leave in handcuffs with a trespass notice, not with shopping bags.

We encourage parents and guardians to speak with their children about making responsible decisions and remind everyone that public spaces and businesses are meant to be enjoyed safely and respectfully.

Beginning June 8, the Hilltop Campus, including the playground and surrounding areas, will be closed to the public due to construction related to the school’s parking lot project.

We understand the playground is a popular gathering spot for many neighborhood families, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as these improvements move forward.

The City of Beachwood honors and remembers the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Originally known as Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the courage and selflessness of those who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy today.

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, we pause in gratitude for their service and sacrifice.
