Never forget the 343 Firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice 25 years ago. They ran toward the danger while others ran away. They climbed the stairs knowing the risks, driven by duty, courage, and a commitment to save others.

Their sacrifice still echoes through every firehouse, every station, and every firefighter who answers the call.

We remember the police officers, EMS, military members, and countless civilians who were also murdered that day.

We also remember those who survived. All first responders who continue to suffer from the physical and emotional consequences from that day. Their fight did not end on September 11th.

May we never forget the 343,
May we never forget their families,
May we never forget those still suffering.

At approximately 16:34 hours, Station 15 was dispatched to a structure fire at 211 Leeward Avenue in Beach Haven. While enroute, Chief 1500 had a column of smoke in the air and requested a 2nd alarm.

Chief 1500 arrived on location and established command. Three story, wood frame, single family dwelling, fire showing from the 3rd floor.

1505 & 4611 arrived on location. Two lines stretched and in operation, water supply established, ground ladders placed, two aerial ladders flown, bulk of the fire knocked down.

Additional manpower from our mutual aid companies arrived and aided in salvage and overhaul. The fire was brought under control.

The incident was turned over to the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s office for investigation.

Quick response, and excellent work by all agencies on scene to contain the spread of fire.
