ATTENTION RESIDENTS:
A parking ban is now in effect in Beach City, effective immediately and until further notice.

Vehicles parked on village streets during this time may be towed or impounded at the ownerโ€™s expense.

This parking ban is necessary to allow crews to safely and efficiently clear snow from the roadways.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Chief Gipe

Good morning, last night we had a serious hit skip accident involving a amish buggy in Brewster. Officer Dunnivan from our department noticed a vehicle with damage driving through Beach City shortly after the incident. Officer Dunnivan noticing the damage and observing the vehicle run a stop sign conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. After questioning the damage the driver admitted to the hit skip and was taken into custody. The driver was then issued a citation for running the stop sign, and was then turned over to Brewster Police. Nice job Officer Dunnivan for the Great work on this!!

Good afternoon. I just wanted to inform residents that the police department has joined the Stark County OVI task force. If you see Beach City officers in other jurisdictions running traffic this is more than likely why. This program is at no cost to Beach City. Thank you

Update: thank you to everyone who has come forward and offered to provide camera footage. We do have a person of interest. If that person returns the signs and appologizes to the candidate in the next 24 hrs and ends this investigation all charges will be dropped. Failure to do so will result in charges and a warrant for your arrest. Regardless of when the signs are put out, it is still theft and it is still considered messing with an election.

Update: Please check your cameras from 1230-130am this morning. We are looking for a male and female on a 4 wheeler. More video to follow. Thank you

The police department is aware of election signs being stolen from around town. We are collecting video and other evidence at this time and will be sharing those videos. Anyone with information regarding these thefts please contact the police department. Those responsible will be held accountable. Thank you, Chief Gipe

Good afternoon, I wanted to update everyone on the intersection of 212 and 93, the amount of accidents and what is being done.
- this has been an on going issue for over 60years
- ODOT did a study in 2019 and advised we did not have enough traffic to warrant a traffic light
- Beach City is permitted to make the intersection a 4 way stop and this is being considered
- we are looking at different signs and lighting to better inform motorists of the intersection.
- Below is a snapshot of all of the accidents we have handled or assisted with since 2011( these are not all from this intersection and does not include accidents OSP has handled) the majority of our accidents do come from this intersection approx 43 from what i am seeing right now.

I am working on a better break down of the accidents from the intesection of 212 and 93 but this will take time.

Hopefully this helps answer a couple of questions . Thank you Chief Gipe
