Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce Bayport and Blue Point are two towns that come together for one great community. And the diverse bus The Chamber always welcomes new members.

Nestled in the south shore of Long Island on The Great South Bay are the towns of Bayport and Blue Point. There are close to 200 caring and involved members of the Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commence that make our community strong. Chamber members are very active with monthly meetings, fundraising, scholarships, community events and more.

Our very own Dorothy Knowlton Johnson of Maxed Out Drug Prevention, Paying It Forward Org

Connor Patton: Fifteen years ago, Dorothy Knowlton Johnson of Blue Point's son, Max Greenfeld, died of an opioid overdose. Fifteen years later, a packed-out crowd of community members, officials, and organizations remembered Greenfeld and the fight for overdose awareness at the Bayport-Blue Point Library during the 14th annual "On the Wings of Hope"
tree-lighting ceremony. Community members from organizations including the Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce, Youth Enrichment Services (YES), and the Great South Bay Coalition (GSBC) gathered and spoke inside the Bayport-Blue Point Library, before lighting a tree planted in Greenfeld's memory shortly after his death purple on Aug. 27 to mark International
Overdose Awareness Day. "I planted the tree as a symbol of growth and awareness in our community," Johnson said. "After my son Max passed away, nobody was talking about [overdose deaths]... As a nurse, I went back to work, nobody would talk about it. And I'm
like, if they're not talking about it, who is?" That response would turn into action, and in 2014, Johnson founded the Great South Bay Coalition, which continues to advocate for drug overdose awareness and prevention. Johnson said addiction is a disease, which is caused by factors
like hereditary issues, shame, and abuse.
