OFFICER DOWN UPDATE

Investigators continue to work on tracking down the suspects responsible for killing our PBA member - Detective Sergeant Monica Mosley. NJ State PBA President Peter Andreyev said, “These are the most difficult hours for Monica’s family, friends, and our entire union. She was a mom, grandmother, and friend to so many. Her fellow members at the Cumberland County Prosecutor's Office, NJ talk about her smile lighting up a room. Her death leaves a void that cannot be filled. We are at a loss for words.”

President Andreyev added, “We will make sure those responsible are tracked down and brought to justice.”

What an absolutely amazing night at the return of the Bayonne Police Emerald Society Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party … Robert received the William Opel Annual Scholarship, I got the honor to introduce the 2025 Man of the Year John Ballance, another fellow member of the Stamler Class of 81 Roman Popowski was honored along with his partner Nick Lawson as Bayonne Police Department Officers of the Year and my friends for over twenty years — Daniel Asia and Dan Aidukas — were honored for the amazing jobs they’ve done for the Department and McCabe’s Ambulance for decades. And so many friends and family and members and the Department who showed, it was a reminder of absolutely lucky we are all to work in different capacities for the City of Bayonne Emergency Services Units.

Tonight, we are proud to honor him as the 2025 Irishman of the Year. Detective Ballance's commitment, bravery, and tireless work have made a lasting impact on our community.
