The board passed the following resolution at the meeting on Tuesday June 9th. pay close attention to the dates and times for any fireworks for 2026.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYARD, NEBRASKA, AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, as a result of the current drought situation the area is experiencing, it is necessary to limit the use of fireworks within the city limits. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Bayard as follows:
l. Fireworks may be discharged in the City from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. commencing June 30, 2026, and until midnight on July 4, 2026. Discharging of fireworks before June 30, 2026 is prohibited. Following July 4, 2026, the dates for the discharge of fireworks will return to as allowed by Bayard City Code § 32.19.

Please join us for our first-ever Chimney Rock Villa Olympics!

We will be serving hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, and chips for our residents and anyone in the community who would like to attend. Plates will be available for $5 each.

We will also have vendors and local businesses joining us through donations, treats, and services during the event.
