Not every bug in the garden is a problem — some are doing the hard work for you 🐞
🦋 Ladybugs, lacewings, and hoverflies are ones I’m always happy to see
🌿 Beneficial insects help keep pest numbers down naturally
🐛 Aphids, whiteflies, and cabbage worms are the ones I watch for most
✨ I try to learn the helpers first before I panic over every bug

Want color fast without a lot of fuss? 🌸 Annuals are my go-to when I want the garden to look full and cheerful quickly
🪴 I love mixing easy bloomers like zinnias, marigolds, and petunias for nonstop color
🐝 A few of these pull double duty too by bringing in pollinators while brightening up the space

The Action Committee has picked a decorated Halloween House winner. It is a little late, but here is your 2025 winner. The winning house belongs to Ralph and Cathie Dominguez and family at the corner of Oak and Ft Bayard. Cathie and the kids put a lot of time into getting the yard ready and it turned out great. Due to my slowness it is to late to see it in person but for your viewing pleasure here it is. The Dominguez family received a gift card generously donated by Albertsons for their efforts.

We want to thank all those in Santa Clara that decorated your home for the Halloween holiday. The Action Committee included all decorated house in the decorating contest and picked one winner. To those that joined us in the contest and those who were included by accident we hope you join in the fun again next year. A winner has been picked and will be posted shortly.
