Chairman Gerry Pallotta of the Islip Town Democratic Committee reacts to the appointment of Angie Carpenter as Islip Town Supervisor:

"It's not surprising that Angie Carpenter is the hand-picked choice of the Islip Republican political boss given her track record of raising taxes.

As a County Legislator, she voted for numerous tax increases throughout her tenure and now joins an all-Republican Town Board which has raised taxes a staggering 45 percent in the last three years and has repeatedly pierced the State tax cap.

Angie Carpenter is more of the same. The Islip Town Democratic Committee will continue to screen candidates in the next month and will support a Supervisor candidate who will fight to hold the line on taxes and reform this broken government.”
