❤️🤍💙🇺🇸Happy Memorial Day!🇺🇸💙🤍❤️
Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication for protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.

This is the concept art for the war memorial on Union Blvd at the Bay Shore MTA LIRR station. The Bay Shore Memorial Park was built to honor World War II, but the tribute has been expanded to honor all those who gave their lives serving our nation

The Bay Shore Historical Society will meet on Thursday, June 25th, at 7:00 PM at the Bay Shore - Brightwaters Public Library (1 South Country Rd., Brightwaters, NY). Please note this meeting will be held on the Fourth Thursday of the month instead of our customary Third Thursday of the month meeting date.

Guest Speaker Alyson Richman will present her novel “The Time Keepers”. This unforgettable novel captures the power of longing, loss, and love. The Time Keepers transports us from 1979 suburban New York to war-torn Vietnam, revealing that sometimes the most unexpected friendships can save us. She uses the fictional town of Bellegrove to represent 1979 Bay Shore. One of the novel’s main characters, Jack Grady, is based on Bay Shore Vietnam War veteran Pete Mohan.

Alyson Richman is the USA Today bestselling and #1 international bestselling author of several historical novels. Alyson graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in art history and Japanese studies. She herself is an accomplished painter, and her novels combine her deep love of art, historical research, and travel. Alyson's novels have been published in twenty-five languages and have reached the bestseller lists both in the United States and abroad. She lives on Long Island with her husband and two children, where she is currently working on her next novel.
