Partners For Stennis & Michoud

Partners For Stennis & Michoud Partners for Stennis & Michoud is a volunteer group who advocate for space, earth and ocean exploration.

Our members are from regional Chambers of Commerce, economic development foundations, businesses, educational institutions, local governments, community groups and individual citizens who desire to encourage development of the NASA-Stennis Space Center. We promote the economic, technical and academic growth and stability of the Center through projects which insure that government decision makers, business interests, and interested citizens know of the value and importance of the center.

They joined a delegation from Mississippi and Louisiana in Washington, D.C., meeting with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for full funding of NASA’s budget and continued investment in human space exploration.

This week members of Partners for Stennis & Michoud hit the Hill as part of a national coalition, Citizens for Space Exploration. They met with 14 Congressional Offices from LA and MS to advocate fot a fully funded NASA budget and express appreciation to our Congressional Delegation for their unwavering support. Countdown has started for launch.

The launch control team recently arrived at their stations and the official countdown for the launch of the Artemis II mission began at 4:44 p.m. EDT (2044 UTC). Teams will begin methodically going through the launch countdown checklist to prepare for the liftoff of the crewed lunar mission — currently scheduled for no earlier than 6:24 p.m. EDT (2224 UTC) on Wednesday, April 1.

The forecast shows an 80% chance of favorable weather conditions.

As soon as Tuesday, Feb. 24, we will roll our Moon rocket for Artemis II mission off the launch pad, weather pending. Engineers are continuing to prepare for the move after encountering an issue with the flow of helium to the rocket’s upper stage. Details: https://go.nasa.gov/4tFWCMK
