Hancock County Library System is a city-county-funded public library serving the residents of Hancock County, Mississippi. Louis Library—which also serves as the administrative headquarters—East Hancock Library in Diamondhead, Kiln Library, Pearlington Library, and Waveland Library. The first library in what would become Hancock County Library System was founded in 1935 as a Works Progress Adminis

tration (WPA) project. HCLS is governed by a five-member Board of Trustees, appointed by the Hancock County Board of Supervisors, the City of Bay St. Louis, and the City of Waveland.

Having trouble registering your child for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library? We’re working on it!

The Library Foundation of Hancock County is committed to helping every eligible child living in Hancock County enroll in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

We have identified an issue affecting families who live in one of several ZIP codes that Hancock County shares with neighboring counties. When some families enter their ZIP code during online registration, the system may identify their address as being in Pearl River or Stone County instead of Hancock County and does not give them the option to select Hancock County.

If this happens to you, don't worry! We are working with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to correct the issue so eligible Hancock County families in these shared ZIP codes can register.

In the meantime, if you live in Hancock County and are unable to register your child because the system is placing your address in another county, please send us a message through the Contact Us form on the Hancock County Library System website:

Please let us know that you are trying to register for the Imagination Library and are experiencing the ZIP-code issue. We will keep your information so we can follow up once the issue is resolved.
