Today, the City of Bay Minette will be closed in recognition of Juneteenth, with the exception of emergency responders who continue to respond to the aftermath of last night's Tropical Storm.

Your prayers for their well-being are appreciated.

The weather remains relentless, especially across our North Baldwin service territory, and is causing multiple widespread outages.
As the total number of outages increases, restoration times unfortunately become longer as crews work to safely assess damage and restore service across the system. It’s shaping up to be a long night for our crews.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as they work as safely and quickly as possible in these challenging weather conditions to restore power to everyone affected.
Please exercise extreme caution if you are traveling or outdoors, and stay far away from any downed power lines.

⚠️ FLOODED ROADWAYS - PLEASE USE CAUTION ⚠️

Due to heavy rainfall and localized flooding, several streets and low-lying areas within the City of Bay Minette are experiencing hazardous conditions. City crews are actively monitoring conditions and placing traffic control devices where necessary.

Please avoid the following areas:

• Lower St between Rain Drive and Hwy 138
• 9th St between Hand Ave and McMillan Ave
• McMillan Ave between 14th St & W Almyra St
• Quinley Street
• E 5th Street between Hand Ave and Mixon Ave

Now Clear as of 11:36 PM:

• D'Olive St at N Pine St
• Hwy 138 near Shedrick Hardy Pkwy
• Old Daphne Rd between Hwy 31 and E Hurricane Rd
• Dennis Ave at the Cemetery (tree has been moved)
• Dickman Rd at the railroad tracks (Tree down w/ power lines has been moved)

If you do not have an essential need to travel, we encourage you to stay off the roadways until conditions improve. In addition to creating dangerous driving conditions, vehicles traveling through standing water can push floodwaters into nearby homes, yards, and businesses, causing additional property damage.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes and avoid driving through standing or moving water. Water depth and roadway conditions can change rapidly, and flooded roadways may conceal washouts, debris, or other hazards.

City staff will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to keep our community safe.

9:57 PM UPDATE for SANDBAGS

As the rain is currently continuing, please note that sandbags are ready for pickup at Public Works on E. 1st St.

🚨 If you encounter a roadway hazard or emergency situation, please contact 911.

☀️🌊 Super City Spotlight 🌊☀️

If you saw our recent City Pool spotlight, you know just how much the Bay Minette City Pool means to our community. From summer memories and swimming lessons to movie nights and afternoons spent with friends, the pool has been part of Bay Minette summers for generations.

Today we’re shining the spotlight on one of the people who helps make those memories possible: Naydia Green!

Naydia has been part of the City Pool team for four years, serving guests from the concession stand and helping create a fun, welcoming experience for everyone who visits.

A few fun facts about Naydia:

🍽️ Favorite local restaurant: Los Patrones
Favorite dish: Nacho Loco Bowl

🎬 Favorite local event: Movie Nights at the Bay Minette City Pool

🏈 Favorite sports team: The University of Alabama

As families head to the pool this summer, be sure to say hello to Naydia and the rest of the team working behind the scenes to make each visit a great one.

Help us thank Naydia for all she does to keep summer fun going in Bay Minette!
