Bay City Historic Commission To identify, evaluate, and protect historical resources which contribute to an
understanding of the development of Bay City, Texas

The Bay City Historic Commission is a board of local volunteers, who serve as Bay City's preservation and design group for our two historic districts. Downtown Historic District, South Side District, and other historic edifices throughout our city. Our services to the community include:
Design branch for Main Street program
Landmark plaque program
Certificate of appropriateness(COA)
Facade Grant program
Free color consultation

Congratulations to all of our "Trees Are Terrific" poster contest winners...3rd Grade winners from Cherry Elementary - Ms. Schwirthlich's class - 1st place Lizeandro Ruiz, 2nd place Dylan Dailey, 3rd place Eliana Flores; 3rd Grade winners from Tenie Holmes - Ms. Worrell's class - 1st place winner Ivan Albonce, 2nd place Mical Tene, 3rd place Fidel Rveda; 4th Grade from Linnie Roberts - Ms. Calhoun's class - 1st place Elizabeth Keith-Salinas. All winners were given a gift card and the 1st place winners will have a tree planted at a park of their choice.

The Bay City Chamber of Commerce will host the 53rd Annual J.C. Lewis Live Oak Memorial Tree Sale starting April 14th from 1 pm to 5 pm at the HEB green space on 5th & 6th Street and at Market Days on the square April 15th from 9 am to 4 pm.
Since 1965 thru 2016 there have been 8,245 trees planted. They have reached their goal of 8,000 trees planted in our community thanks to Lamar Evans service for these 53 years. Trees are Terrific!!!!

WHO WANTS TO LIVE DOWNTOWN?????? Then keep your eyes open on this beautiful renovation on Avenue G and 5th Street. THE FIFTH STREET LOFTS. The apartments are well underway on the second floor. We are looking forward to seeing how these beautiful apartments are going to turn out. Thank you Victa & Kristi Edwards for helping to save our history!
