Tonight’s the night! ✨📚

Join the Bay County Library System TONIGHT at 7:00 pm at the beautiful State Theatre for an unforgettable evening with New York Times bestselling author Jean Kwok - completely FREE and open to the public, generously presented by the Friends of the Bay County Library System.

Jean Kwok’s novels have captured the attention of readers around the world with powerful stories of identity, family, resilience, secrets, and belonging:

-Girl in Translation follows Kimberly Chang as she immigrates from Hong Kong to Brooklyn, balancing academic success with the harsh realities of working in a Chinatown sweatshop to help support her family.

-Mambo in Chinatown tells the story of Charlie Wong, whose life changes after she discovers the world of ballroom dancing while struggling between family duty and personal dreams.

-Searching for Sylvie Lee is a gripping family mystery about two sisters, hidden secrets, and the search for truth after Sylvie Lee mysteriously disappears.

-The Leftover Woman explores motherhood, identity, and adoption through the intersecting lives of two women connected by China’s One Child Policy.

-And coming this July - Dominion - an epic fantasy about rival kingdoms, dangerous magic, deadly trials, demons, and a growing attraction that could save or destroy everything.

During tonight’s event, Jean will discuss her extraordinary life story, writing journey, and creative process, followed by a live Q&A and book signing. Copies of her books will be available for purchase at the event.

Whether you love literary fiction, emotional family stories, mysteries, or fantasy, this is a night you won’t want to miss!
