🐾 Making Sense of Real Numbers! 🧮📚

Our 7th graders have been busy wrapping up their unit of study on Real Numbers!

Throughout this unit, students have worked their way from integers to rational numbers, reviewing familiar skills while building new ones along the way. They've practiced all four operations across different types of numbers while developing a deeper understanding of how these number structures work together.

From discovering mathematical rules to learning, practicing, and applying new skills, these Wildcats have been putting in the work each day! 💪🧠

Before taking their end-of-unit assessment, students completed a culminating activity that allowed them to showcase what they had learned while creating a useful review tool. Students worked in groups to design posters highlighting important concepts, rules, and skills from the unit.

The result? Some awesome student-created resources that are now on display throughout the classroom and hallways at Rosspoint! 🎨➗➕➖✖️

The pictures below show a few of our 7th graders hard at work creating their posters, along with a couple of the finished products now being used to showcase and review their learning.

This is what learning in action looks like—students working together, creating authentic products, and making their learning visible for others to see.

🎮🐾 WILDCAT GUILD PRESENTS: POKÉMON NIGHT! 🐾🎮

Get ready, Wildcats! Our first Wildcat Guild Game Night is officially set! We’re teaming up with Playability – Harlan for an evening of Pokémon, games, and fun! ⚡🔥

⚡ Trade Pokémon cards
⚔️ Battle other trainers
🎓 Learn how to battle with help from Playability’s knowledgeable staff
🛍️ Browse the games, cards, and collectibles throughout the store
🍕 Enjoy pizza and snacks provided by the Wildcat Guild!

Students can come ready to trade, battle, learn, or simply explore and enjoy the evening with fellow Wildcats.

A huge thank you to Playability – Harlan for partnering with the Wildcat Guild and helping us launch our very first Game Night! We’re excited to work with local community partners to create fun experiences for our students.

🐾 Parents: Drop your child off for the event and plan to return for pickup at 7:00 PM.

🚀🍪 TSA MOBILE SNACK INNOVATION UNIT: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! 🍫🥤

The TSA Mobile Snack Innovation Unit was a HUGE success today! Thanks to the generosity of all of our TSA members who brought in donations, we were able to provide delicious snacks and drinks to students throughout the entire school! 🎉

Pictured are our TSA Officers manning the snack carts and putting their skills to work! Every member had a role to play, whether it was pushing the cart through the halls, helping students with their orders, managing the money, or making sure every classroom had been visited by communicating with teachers and students.

And let’s just say… no sweet tooth was left unsatisfied! 😂🍭

Today was more than just selling snacks. Our students put their competencies to the test by communicating, collaborating, managing resources, solving problems, and taking responsibility for their assigned roles. They got a little real-world experience in customer service, logistics, inventory, and financial management—all while having a great time!

A special shout-out goes to our TSA Treasurer, Nolan Simpson, who had the very important job of counting all that hard-earned money! 💰 After crunching the numbers, Nolan was excited to report that the Mobile Snack Innovation Unit brought in OVER $300! 💵🎉

That’s a pretty successful first deployment! 🚀

Way to go, Wildcats! 🐾 Your teamwork, leadership, and willingness to step up made today a success.

Now… we just have one more question:
Nolan… can we PLEASE have permission to spend some of that money? 😂💰

🐾📣 WILDCAT GUILD: DEVELOPING EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATORS! 📣🐾

One of the goals of the Wildcat Guild is to give our students opportunities to develop the skills they need to become Effective Communicators. Planning our very first Game Night provided a perfect real-world opportunity to put those skills into action!

Our Chancellor, Micheal Edens, stepped up alongside his leadership team and took the initiative to contact one of our local community partners to begin planning our first Wildcat Guild Game Night. 📞🎲

Micheal introduced himself clearly, explained who he represented and the purpose of his call, and communicated what the Guild hoped to accomplish. When the business had follow-up questions, he listened, responded appropriately, and worked through the details to get everything moving!

This is what Vibrant Learning looks like in action.

Our students aren't just learning how to communicate effectively in a classroom. They're getting opportunities to practice those skills in authentic situations that have a real impact.

👏 Way to go, Micheal and the entire Guild leadership team! You stepped up, communicated effectively, worked with a community partner, and helped put the final touches on our very first event!

✨⭐ Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star! ⭐✨

As part of our Amplify curriculum, Mrs. Saylor’s kindergarteners learned the nursery rhyme “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and practiced putting the events in the correct order! 🌟

Our little learners showed off their sequencing skills by creating their very own Twinkle, Twinkle sequence strip hats! 🎩⭐

We’re learning, creating, and having a starry good time in kindergarten! 💙🤍✨

🍕🔺 Shape Pizza Fun in Kindergarten!🔺🍕

Students in Mrs. Torstrick’s kindergarten class made their very own SHAPE PIZZAS today! 🍕

Students added their toppings, identified the different shapes, and counted how many of each shape they had. It was a fun, hands-on way to practice our shapes and counting skills! ❤️

A BIG thank you to our local Harlan Pizza Hut for donating pizza boxes for our activity! Your generosity helped make our Shape Pizza experience even more realistic and exciting for our students! 🍕
