🛣️ Behind Every Sign Is a Safer Roadway 🪧

This week, our crew was hard at work installing warning signs to help keep motorists informed and safe through an active roadway project 💪🏼

The “Grooved Pavement” sign alerts drivers and motorcyclists that the road surface ahead has been milled in preparation for paving. These signs are an important part of temporary traffic control, helping drivers adjust their speed and remain alert to changing road conditions ⚠️

At PLC Traffic Control, safety starts long before the first cone is placed and continues until the project is complete. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️👷

Have you ever wondered what those orange-and-white striped barriers are used for? Here’s your answer! 👇

Barricades are traffic control devices designed to alert drivers to changes in roadway conditions, guide traffic safely through work zones, and restrict access to closed areas.

Have you ever noticed those large electronic signs along the roadway displaying important traffic information?

These are called Portable Changeable Message Signs (PCMS), commonly known as message boards.

Message boards are used to:

✅ Alert drivers of upcoming road work
✅ Provide advance notice of lane closures or detours
✅ Share important traffic delays and safety information
✅ Help motorists prepare for changing roadway conditions

By giving drivers advance warning, message boards help improve safety for both the traveling public and roadway workers.
