UPDATE: Lisa has been found and is safe back at home. Thank you everyone for the help and concern.

Lisa Minor left from her house in Baxter Springs on Friday, June 19th around 0530 hours. Her vehicle was located a few blocks from her house, but she was not with it.

Lisa is 51 years old, with brown hair and hazel eyes. Family and friends have not heard from her. Lisa does not have a cellphone and her family is worried about her. If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Lisa, please contact the Baxter Springs Police Department.

Another congratulations is in order. Officer Tyree came to us with a law enforcement certification from Missouri. He was given a provisional Kansas certification pending the successful completion of the Kansas reciprocity test. Officer Tyree took that test today and passed. Officer Tyree is now officially a full time, Kansas certified law enforcement officer. Way to go Tyree, keep up the good work.

Join us in congratulating Officer Frost and Officer Lovell in there successful completion of the police academy. The 14 week academy at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center tests you both mentally and physically in preparation for a career as a law enforcement officer. We are proud of both officers and welcome them back home to serve and protect the citizens of Baxter Springs.

Fire hydrant testing will begin Monday, June 8th on the NW side of town and will move through the wards throughout the following days. Residents may experience a drop in pressure, or a brief discoloration in the water. Pressure will return to normal after the testing in your area is complete and discoloration can be remidied by running your water for a few minutes. If you have any questions, please contact our office for further information.

On Monday, June 1st, officers with the Baxter Springs Police Department served a narcotics search warrant at a house on Military Ave.

During the search, multiple items of drug paraphernalia and ma*****na were located and siezed.

The residents of that house, Brenda Woods, and Michael Herndon were arrested and booked into the Cherokee County Jail for possession of ma*****na and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
