🌺 Happy Administrative Professionals Day, Teresa Hall!!

✨ For more than two decades, Teresa Hall has served Appling County with dedication through UGA Cooperative Extension as the Administrative Assistant. She has contributed to building up the community by serving countless families, youth, farmers, businesses, fellow employees, and others in many ways. Taking water and soil samples, assisting with registrations for a wide range of programs, ensuring every program area has the supplies needed for successful events, encouraging youth in 4-H programs, and supporting ServSafe or other nutrition programs barely scrapes the surface of everything Mrs. Teresa does to ensure the people of Appling County receive quality experiences from our office. She truly cares about the work she does, and it shows. Anyone who has worked with Mrs. Teresa in any capacity over the years knows she goes above and beyond to serve. She has a heart for those around her and always greets those who visit the Extension Office with a welcoming smile and eagerness to help.

🍀💫 Mrs. Teresa seeks opportunities to invest in youth and families and has always been actively involved in supporting and assisting with the Appling County Livestock Show each year, as well as greatly tackling the ins and outs of target sports programs and other volunteer-led clubs!

🌱🥜 Additionally, she ensures farmers and producers in the community have each and every question answered to ensure meaningful, research-based, and applicable contribution to the agricultural community through Extension!

❤️👩🏼‍🍳 Through FACS program support, she helps enhance life-changing programs as people participate and grow in the areas of personal nutrition, health, and well-being!

Overall, she is truly the best administrative assistant, and we are incredibly thankful for her! Appling County Extension would not be what it is without Mrs. Teresa and her years of selfless service. Help us share in celebrating her! 🌟

🍀🌟 4-H S.A.F.E. Shotgun Team Members Qualify for State

💫 The Appling County 4-H S.A.F.E. Shotgun program is one of multiple disciplines offered to youth in Georgia 4-H through Project S.A.F.E. (Shooting Awareness, Fun, and Education). The main goal of these programs is to provide youth a place to develop a sense of belonging, learn teamwork in a safe environment, and increase concentration skills through responsible use of shooting sports equipment.

The 2025 - 2026 Appling County 4-H Shotgun Team had 11 members compete at the recent Washington County Area Modified Trap Qualifier! 💫 The shotgun program focuses on working with youth in 6th – 12th Grades and enhances their shooting accuracy skills in the areas of Trap, S***t, and Sporting Clays while nurturing the sport as a hobby and life skill. Our volunteers devote countless hours to providing an avenue for youth to develop as athletes and individuals through this team. We are thankful to have a team of Certified Georgia 4-H S.A.F.E. Coaches in Appling County who currently lead this team including: Ryan DeWitt, John Garner, Amanda Quinn, and Shay Williams.

💫 The Shotgun Team holds practice each week where youth gather to sharpen their skills. The coaches also offer guidance and direction for learning throughout the season while working together to maintain the functions of the team. We are so thankful for their service to Georgia 4-H and Appling County 4-H!

👏 Appling County 4-H is proud of all of our S.A.F.E. Shotgun Team athletes, coaches, and volunteers as they continue to represent Georgia 4-H and Appling County 4-H with excellence while striving to “Make the Best, Better!”

🍀🌟 Georgia 4-H Day at the State Capitol Promotes Civic Engagement & Leadership!

As we wrap up celebrations for $4 for 4-H Statewide Giving Days, we continue to spotlight ways your donations support youth in Appling County as they develop leadership, service, civic engagement, and life skills!

The giving link will remain open through the end of today, Saturday, April 4, 2026! Click to donate — Don’t forget to select Appling!: www.georgia4h.org/four. When you support Appling 4-H…you support youth learning about CIVIC ENGAGEMENT!

💫 Civic Engagement and Leadership make up one of the three Georgia 4-H focus areas. Each year, Georgia 4-H Day at the State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia is well attended by 4-H members from across the state. Earlier this year, we had 5 Appling County 4-H Members attend alongside approximately 700 other 4-H members, staff, volunteers, and elected officials. Delegates toured the Capitol, met with senators and representatives within Georgia’s legislature, and enjoyed a luncheon in the Georgia Freight Depot, thanks to legislative hosts Senator Larry Walker lll and Representative Rick Jasperse.

🍀 Appling 4-H'ers in attendance included: Jamie Ampuero, Emma Herrington, Brooke Poole, Jesse James, and Jacob Carr.

💫 Appling County 4-H’ers had the opportunity to meet with State House Representative Steven Meeks, to learn about his role in serving residents of Georgia! Representative Meeks serves the 178th District of Georgia — covering Bacon County, Pierce County, and parts of Appling and Wayne Counties. He embraced the importance of positive youth development programs during his time with our delegates and encouraged them to seek opportunities to step up and lead and to learn by doing in all they do. We greatly appreciate Representative Meeks taking time to invest in our youth!

🍀 Georgia 4-H Day at the Capitol allows youth to expand their understanding of government while learning about a range of opportunities to serve others in the workforce — gaining perspectives that help them !

💫 Youth in Appling County are invited to join us in the next Georgia 4-H Day at the Capitol in 2027! If you have questions about joining 4-H or participating in civic engagement opportunities in the future, contact us at 912-367-8130.
